Since getting into the web3 space late last year, I’ve made some new friends in the crypto and NFT communities. I recently hosted a family gathering when an idea hit me: why not throw a “cookout” online? This led me to put together what I call “Zero’s Summer Cookout”.

A Brief Background

I fell into the crypto rabbit hole last year and found NFTs around December. Since then, I have only fallen deeper. With so many projects out there, it took me a few months to finally find my place in the anime style sector of NFTs. I have been introduced to so many fun people and communities in my time here so far.

I no longer want to just be a collector. I want to add to the space. I am not an artist in any medium so I decided to gather some artists I have been following and create this event.

What is Zero’s Summer Cookout?

In its simplest form, it is a giveaway that I am hosting on Twitter over the next month or so where the prizes will be NFTs made by artists specifically for this event. My hope is to be able to make new friends, help others do the same, and share some cool cookout-related artwork made by some amazing artists.

How to Participate

Firstly, follow me on Twitter below (@ZeroHeroEth) so you can stay up to date on the event.

Secondly, when the relevant post is up, follow the steps on there to enter to win that week’s NFT. Participation will require very little. Mainly, I will ask you to retweet, answer a poll, and share a memory.

How will it work?

Since I am working on this alone, I want to keep it simple enough for me to handle yet still entertaining enough for those who participate. My solution is to weave a narrative through Twitter threads.

The first thread to kick things off will be the invitation. After this, each week there will be a poll to decide which NFT to reveal next. Each week will be a separate entry meaning you will have to participate every week for a chance to win that week’s piece.

Every Friday evening around 10pm CST I will reveal the artwork and airdrop the piece to the participants. There will be 25 editions for each of the 4 NFTs. Your chances to get one will depend on how many people enter.

The first reveal will be on July 29th and the last reveal will be on August 19th.

Endgame

After all is said and done, I hope to have spread a little bit of sunshine on this space. If even one person likes what comes out of this, I will call it a success. I hope to learn from this experience and use it as I continue to create in the future.
