which include:

**Smart Contract **— Lido could contain a smart contract vulnerability that could be exploited.

Technical — The Ethereum Beacon chain (the original Proof-of-Stake blockchain) could have been developed with errors and possibly exploited.

Adoption — If the Beacon chain fails to reach required levels of adoption there could be significant fluctuations in the value of ETH and stETH.

Slashing — If Beacon chain validators fail, all staked funds would be at risk. Lido stakes across multiple validators to minimize this risk.

Price — The exchange price of stETH could potentially lose value due to “withdrawal restrictions on Lido, making arbitrage and risk-free market-making impossible”.

I have been meaning to post this for some time now, so I am happy to finally post this and get this out to the readers.

Hopefully, I was able to convince some of you get your Ethereum (ETH) off of any hot wallets or exchanges ASAP, and secure them on a Ledger wallet to earn staking rewards.

Even if you do not care about staking your ETH, please consider moving your crypto to a hardware wallet to keep it as safe as possible.

If you are interested in purchasing a Ledger wallet, please consider using my referral link so we can both get $10 worth of Bitcoin:

https://shop.ledger.com/?referral_code=G3CNK58K10MTD

What are your thoughts on this?

Have you purchased a Ledger hardware wallet yet?

If so, which one do you have and how are you enjoying it?

Are you currently staking with your Ledger wallet?

Enter my Monthly Giveaway on Publish0x to win yourself some free Crypto!

Check out my Socials: https://linktr.ee/zerorequiem0x

See ya!

:)

Today’s action is the latest in our efforts to rein in shadowy cryptocurrency companies and bring order to the industry. All New Yorkers and all companies operating in New York have to follow our state’s laws and regulations. KuCoin operated in New York without registration and that is why we are taking strong action to hold them accountable and protect investors.”

- Letitia James, Attorney General of the State of New York

Surprisingly, the lawsuit also went on to claim that Ethereum (ETH) was a security, on the grounds that “since transitioning to the proof-of-stake consensus, possession of ETH translates directly to profit potential by earning staking rewards.”

The lawsuit argues that ETH, LUNA, and UST are all speculative assets that rely “on the efforts of third-party developers in order to provide profit to the holders”.

This is actually one of the first times in regulatory history that someone has claimed, in court, that Ethereum is a security.

I am curious to see what may happen as a result of this, and worried it might start a larger investigation into Ethereum and potentially many other cryptocurrencies.

New York is turning into one of the least-friendly states for cryptocurrency in the entire United States.

In just the last two years, Attorney General James has taken legal action against BlockFi, Celsius, CoinEx, and Nexo.

If this lawsuit were successful, KuCoin would be forced to “implement geo-blocking based on IP addresses and GPS location to prevent access to KuCoin’s mobile app, website, and services from New York”.

Luckily, here in the USA, states have different rules and regulations, and for that reason I am thankful this lawsuit is not applying to the rest of the country.

What are your thoughts on this news?

Are you concerned about KuCoin?

Does this news make you consider moving assets off of KuCoin?

Enter my Monthly Giveaway on Publish0x to win yourself some free Crypto!

Check out my Socials: https://linktr.ee/zerorequiem0x

See ya!

:)

Bitfinex and Tether have world-class compliance programs and adhere to applicable Anti-Money Laundering, Know Your Customer, and Counter-Terrorist Financing legal requirements.

Bitfinex and Tether are proud partners of global law enforcement, and routinely and voluntarily assist the United States Department of Justice and other law enforcement organizations across the world in preventing money laundering, terrorism, and other crimes by bad actors.

These unfair attacks will not distract us from continuing with those efforts and offering the most liquid and reliable stablecoin experience, which the market has clearly recognized by making us the leaders in the industry.”

- Tether

Tether is the 3rd largest cryptocurrency with a Market Cap of $71 billion, and is currently the most traded crypto in the entire world with a 24-hour trading volume exceeding $31 billion USD.

This brings some context as to why a company might go to these lengths to keep access to liquidity.

With such a large operation, you can understand why losing access to the Global Banking System would be an immediate threat to the existence of Tether.

In my personal opinion, I have always stayed away from Tether (USDT) whenever I could.

I have always been concerned whether Tether is actually backed by anything, and I do not want to be caught holding the bag on Tether if it were to ever unravel.

I will end this by saying that is is important to remember these are only allegations and there is still a lot more to learn about this before we can make any determinations on what happened.

What are your thoughts on this news?

Do you trust Tether?

Enter my Monthly Giveaway on Publish0x to win yourself some free Crypto!

Check out my Socials: https://linktr.ee/zerorequiem0x

See ya!

:)

Any user can turn off the light switch at any time with no penalty or fear of losing their stake.

Read here for more information about Pure Proof of Stake.

I love the Governance program, how easy it is vote on important measures and feel like a part of the community. I get the feeling that this objection has been made as a kind of cover, so you can say later that we’ll see we raised these issues. You haven’t really, you have done nothing … I need to know specifics.”

- Michael Wiles, U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge

Surprisingly, at the beginning of the Bankruptcy Court Hearing, U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Michael Wiles went on a rant picking apart the SEC’s objection to the Binance/Voyager deal.

The Judge brought into question that the SEC did not bring up any specifics in their objection, and that they were simply holding up the process for no good reason.

Judge Wiles also made an excellent point that he believes the SEC and other regulatory agencies only objected to the deal now, so that later in the future they could potentially turn around and cause issues.

In response to these cutting remarks by Judge Wiles, the SEC Senior Trial Attorney William Uptegrove stated that he believes Binance.US is operating an “unregistered securities exchange”.

He went on to state that Voyager also is an unregulated securities exchange after they offered and sold their own VGX tokens to the public.

However, after making these claims, the attorney then said that these claims were only the personal views of the staff, and that the SEC has not made any determinations on these issues.

This did not sit well with Judge Michael Wiles as he dismantled the SEC’s odd argument by calling it unprofessional and expressed shock at how staff members of the SEC could express personal views as allegations without evidence.

After the hearing concluded, Binance.US wasted no time in releasing a statement, responding to the allegations, that pointed out the SEC made allegations without actually being specific or explaining how.

“It is regrettable that an SEC staff member would make allegations, that Binance.US and platforms like ours are operating an unregistered exchange, without specifying the assets listed on our exchange that the SEC considers to be securities. We, along with others in our industry, remain committed to constructive dialogue with regulators and supporting a comprehensive regulatory framework drafted and passed by Congress to ensure innovation continues in the United States.”

- Binance.US Spokesperson

I believe it is also important to note that all this drama comes after the Binance/Voyager deal was voted on by customers, and passed with 97% voting in favor of the deal.

At the end of the day, as a Voyager customer/victim, I just want this all to be over and I will accept whatever crypto/assets I get back from the deal.

I think this is why you see 97% voting in favor of this deal; we are just so tired of this whole process.

What are your thoughts on this news?

Do you think the Binance/Voyager deal will go through successfully?

Are you surprised the Judge is actually standing up to these rogue regulatory agencies?

Enter my Monthly Giveaway on Publish0x to win yourself some free Crypto!

Check out my Socials: https://linktr.ee/zerorequiem0x

See ya!

:)

Hey Peeps!

On February 27th, the stock and crypto trading application, Robinhood, revealed that they are currently being investigated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The revelation comes from Robinhood's most recent 10-K filing, and states that the company received an "investigative subpoena" from the SEC to look into the platform's cryptocurrency operation.

There is not too much information about the ongoing investigation, but Robinhood's filing does state that the investigation is in regards to the company's "supported cryptocurrencies, custody of cryptocurrencies, and platform operations".

Here is the direct quote from the filing which briefly mentions the SEC Investigation:

"From time to time, we have received, and might in the future receive SEC inquiries regarding specific cryptocurrencies supported on our platform and added features and in December 2022, following the 2022 Crypto Bankruptcies, we received an investigative subpoena from the SEC regarding, among other topics, RHC’s supported cryptocurrencies, custody of cryptocurrencies, and platform operations."

- Robinhood

Robinhood is clearly worried about this investigation and the ramification it can have on their business operations, as well as the liability it may open them up to.

Based off the 10-K filing it sounds like Robinhood would delist the cryptocurrencies to stay in line with regulation, if the SEC were to determine a crypto to be a security.

With the SEC Chair Gary Gensler recently saying "everything other than Bitcoin is a security", you can understand why companies like Robinhood are bracing for impact.

I want to share another section from Robinhood's 10-K filing, where the company goes on about the potential issues that may be caused by the SEC's investigation and subsequent ruling:

"To the extent that the SEC or a court determines that any cryptocurrencies supported by our platform are securities, that determination could prevent us from continuing to facilitate trading of those cryptocurrencies (including ceasing support for such cryptocurrencies on our platform). It could also result in regulatory enforcement penalties and financial losses in the event that we have liability to our customers and need to compensate them for any losses or damages. We could be subject to judicial or administrative sanctions for failing to offer or sell the cryptocurrency in compliance with securities registration requirements, or for acting as a securities broker or dealer without appropriate registration.

Such an action could result in injunctions and cease and desist orders, as well as civil monetary penalties, fines, and disgorgement, criminal liability, and reputational harm. Customers that traded such supported cryptocurrency through our platform and suffered trading losses might also seek to rescind transactions that we facilitated on the basis that they were conducted in violation of applicable law, which could subject us to significant liability and losses. We might also be required to cease facilitating transactions in the supported cryptocurrency, which could negatively impact our business, operating results, and financial condition."

- Robinhood

This is clearly another case of the SEC going around and trying to subpoena the cryptocurrency industry until they fall in line and follow orders.

It makes sense that the SEC would also be going after Robinhood and other traditional financial institutions to dissuade them from getting into cryptocurrency.

Based off Robinhood's statements, it will be most likely be easier to leave the cryptocurrency market instead of fight the SEC and other regulatory agencies on the matter.

Robinhood currently has 18 cryptocurrencies listed on their application, and have focused on releasing their own Robinhood Wallet and other ventures into web3.

In my opinion, it would be shocking to see Robinhood dip out of the cryptocurrency space after all the effort and resources they put into it.

What are your thoughts on this news?

Why do you think Robinhood kept this investigation under wraps for so long?

Enter my Monthly Giveaway on Publish0x to win yourself some free Crypto!

It takes 5 seconds to enter!

Check out my Socials: https://linktr.ee/zerorequiem0x

See ya!

:)

They look a lot like bitcoins, but Bitcoin wasn’t very big when you made the first movie.

Stahelski:* [Laughs] We’re going to take credit for that.*

It’s kind of ironic how it’s the cryptocurrency of this underworld. In the real world, crypto is having a tough time.

Reeves:* I think the principle, the ideas behind an independent currency, are amazing. These are amazing tools for exchanges and distribution of resources. So to pooh-pooh crypto, or the volatility of cryptocurrency, it’s only going to make it better in terms of how it’s safeguarded.*

The interview goes on to discuss topics like the Metaverse, Artificial Intelligence, ChatGPT, movie franchises, and Science Fiction.

There is a lot going on in the world of cryptocurrency, it is good to sometimes take a moment to appreciate where we are and how far we have come.

I saw this interview in the news and wanted to share something light with you peeps.

What are your thoughts on this news?

Do you think genuine interest in crypto by celebrities would lead to more crypto adoption?

Are you a fan of Keanu Reeves?

What is your favorite movie of his?

Enter my Monthly Giveaway on Publish0x to win yourself some free Crypto!

It takes 5 seconds to enter!

Check out my Socials: https://linktr.ee/zerorequiem0x

See ya!

:)
