What if you could trade on what people say?

Spoken-word prediction markets, explained in three minutes.

Every week, thousands of hours of people talking get broadcast live. Earnings calls. Crypto AMAs. Football commentary. Founder podcasts. Political speeches. Most of it is noise. Some of it moves markets.

And almost all of it is predictable, if you've been paying attention.

You know the CEO will say "AI" on the earnings call. You're fairly sure the commentator will say "offside" before half-time. You'd bet your lunch the founder says "community" in the first ten minutes of the AMA.

Mentioned lets you actually make that bet.

How it works

Pick a live event. Pick a word. Trade on whether it gets said.

Every market is tied to something spoken: a stream, a match broadcast, a call, a keynote. You buy YES or NO on each word, and the price moves as other people trade. If you think "airdrop" has a better than 49% chance of coming up on the Solana Ecosystem Call and the market says 49%, you buy YES. If it gets said, you're paid. If it doesn't, you're not.

When the event ends, the transcript is checked and winners are paid automatically.

There's a second kind of market too: which word gets said the most? Everyone picks a word for $1, and whoever picked the winner splits the pot. Pick the obvious word and you share it with a crowd. Pick the smart, rare one and it pays.

Free to start

You don't need money to play. Every free market gives you play tokens, so you can learn how it works, climb the leaderboard and figure out whether you're any good before you ever put real money in.

When you want real stakes, paid markets settle in USDC on Solana.

Why this is interesting

Prediction markets usually ask big, slow questions. Who wins the election. Where Bitcoin closes the year. You wait months for an answer.

Spoken-word markets are fast, small and everywhere. A market lasts as long as a call. It resolves in minutes. And the edge isn't insider information, it's listening: knowing that this founder always says "shipping", that this commentator never says "clinical", that this particular call always runs long.

It turns watching into playing. That's the whole idea.

Try it this week

We're running Arena III: World's Fair, a two-week team competition alongside Colosseum's Crypto World's Fair hackathon. Teams of two, $1,500 in prizes, 28 September to 11 October. Free to join.

And on Thursday 24 September, there's a live market on the Solana Ecosystem Call: will Airdrop, Raised, Custody, Gambling or Taylor get said?
