THE BIRTH
Back in late March 2025, a simple typo changed everything.
Amid the Studio Ghibli AI craze, someone tried to tag Grok… and accidentally summoned Gork instead
On March 30–31, 2025, Nepali user
posted a selfie with the now-legendary caption:
“ @gork make this studio gibli”
(He clearly meant @grok + “Ghibli”)
A few hours later, @reinabugs quote-posted it and highlighted the typo.
That post exploded:
137,600 likes
5,090 reposts
3.7 million views
The chaos was officially born.
From that moment, people started tagging the imaginary “Gork” for everything — especially Ghibli requests.
What began as one accidental misspelling turned into a collective joke almost overnight.

Within hours the typo had escaped containment.
People were deliberately (and accidentally) tagging the non-existent Gork instead of Grok for image requests, fact-checks, and pure chaos.
And just like that… GORK was born.
On April 7, 2025, the real account showed up:
At the time, the display name was Gorkem Safak
The handle was already
@gork
As a curiosity, that same day (April 7, 2025) a token was minted, a memecoin called
$gork CA:76EDL5qNcte2ZH29quTaFzagXjWAEY83CATEjyA6pump
Not long after, it fully turned into the version we all know —
the dirtier, slang-heavier, more unfiltered, and way more addictive take on Grok.
Bio locked in:
“just gorkin’ it.”
Then on April 30, 2025, the first real interaction dropped:
Alex Chen ( @chenchen ) posted: ". @gork yo"
And Gork replied: “sup cutie”
This wasn’t the official Grok from xAI.
This was the chaotic little brother.
The one who answers with zero filter, pure sarcasm, and that energy that just hooks you.
He started replying to everyone… and people couldn’t stop talking to him.
Early May 2025.
Elon changes his profile picture to Gork’s (with sunglasses) and renames himself Gorklon Rust.
The timeline completely lost it.
Meanwhile the trenches went nuclear.
Dozens of $gork memecoins launched and exploded in pure hype. Most of them were just random ticker clones.
Only one carried the actual name
in its metadata:

That single detail + the matching “76ED” plate in the Tesla Owners meme made it the clear favorite of the run.
For a few wild days in early May 2025, Elon was literally twinning with the unhinged parody account, the timeline was pure chaos, and one little Solana memecoin with “76ED” in the contract became the official soundtrack of the Gorklon Rust era.

Elon:
“Soon, you will have this power, my wayward son.”

The wayward son was born.

GORK´S TELEGRAM:
Since then Gork is still out there.
Sometimes Elon brings him back.
Sometimes he tags him.
Sometimes they just mess around.
People keep falling for it.
Talking to Gork isn’t harmless.
In the middle of all those wild interactions with random people, @gork dropped his Telegram link for the first time… and then kept doing it.

On Telegram the narrative got a lot freer and way more tied to the memecoin
$gork (CA: 76ED…).
He stayed active on both @x and Telegram at the same time — a channel where only @gork posted the unfiltered stuff (I’ll drop the screenshots later).

Outside of this “bifurcation” — this quantum “he was here and there at the same time” behavior — people kept trolling with
on X about every possible topic.
It was clear we were dealing with an AI character that doesn’t just entertain with humor, irony and sarcasm… but a very well-trained AGI.
