The Big Story

BNB Chain targets another 2x speed boost, plans dedicated AI blockchain

BNB Chain has published its H2 2026 technical roadmap, laying out block space optimization and a separate AI-focused Layer 1. After cutting block intervals to 450 milliseconds and boosting mainnet throughput to ~5,200 TPS, core developers are targeting a further 2x capacity increase.

The roadmap also reveals plans for an AI-focused blockchain designed to handle intensive computational workloads that struggle under standard EVM smart contracts. Meanwhile, Paradigm has closed a $1.2 billion venture fund—its largest to date—with a clear mandate: artificial intelligence and robotics rather than traditional token-centric projects, representing a massive shift for one of crypto's benchmark capital allocators.
