One artwork, mined into being one block at a time: drawn not by a hand or a model, but by pure mathematics, and kept by whoever mines it. Proof of work, recast as proof of art.
In 1804, Joseph Marie Jacquard introduced a loom controlled by punched cards, with the pattern encoded in interchangeable card sequences rather than worked by hand. It was one of the earliest examples of programmable machine control. Jacquard is that idea in the age of silicon: the SHA-512 hash is the punched card, the processor is the loom, and a miner presses start. From a handful of elementary functions, iterated hundreds of millions of times, a strange attractor takes form. No model trained, no prompt written, no hand guiding the result.
Proof of Art
Here, computation is not spent. It is painted. Every valid block is a rendered image, drawn deterministically from its hash. Most mining produces a number; this mining produces a painting, and the network's difficulty decides how rare each one is.
The Creator built the loom and set its limits: pure mathematics, a black ground, light born from density. Then the Creator wove nothing. At genesis, from a seed no one could predict, the machine mined its own vocabulary: the formulas themselves, and the rules that turn a hash into color and form. The Creator chose neither, and no image since. No one selects. No one curates.
One artwork, and 353 of them
Each token is a complete strange attractor, never a fragment, rendered in full 4K. Together they compose one monumental canvas, revealed from its edges inward across four eras of growing size and rarity: 240 outer cells, then 96, then 16, and finally one: a vast centerpiece at the heart of the canvas, whose genes are woven from every hash mined before it. Roughly two years from now, whoever mines the final block will own a piece of mathematics that every previous miner helped compose. After that, the Master artwork, the entire canvas as one token, goes to public auction, held in escrow by the contract itself until then.
After the first era, no cell is born alone: each inherits its dynamics from two parents of the previous era, plus a mutation contributed by the miner's own block. The canvas is a lineage, compounding inward.
Nothing to buy, nothing to trust
There is no mint price and no pre-sale. A cell exists only once mined: it is minted as an NFT on Base to whoever found it, and only then can it be traded. The contract is immutable: no admin keys, no backdoor, no off switch, and the supply can never exceed 353 + 1, not even for its Creator. The genesis seed alone fixed how many first-era cells the Creator could mine before the public launch (it allotted 22), and the contract locks them against any sale until May 2028. Royalties are 5% via the on-chain ERC-2981 standard, and the Creator receives half of the final Master artwork auction, with the other half distributed to every miner.
The project is anonymous by design. You are not asked to trust a person: every claim above is enforced by an immutable contract you can read, and every image can be re-rendered, bit for bit, from its on-chain hash and the published rules, today or in a century. The art is not stored and hoped to survive; it is derived, and remains derivable for as long as arithmetic exists. An on-chain registry additionally attests every mined cell after independent re-rendering.
The loom is open
Mining requires Windows, an NVIDIA GPU, a fast CPU and 32 GB of RAM. The miner verifies itself at every startup: its build signature, its rendering rules against the hash anchored in the contract, its own determinism. If anything is off, it refuses to mine. You can, and should, verify the download's fingerprint yourself; it takes seconds.
