Year of the ZABAL - Day 273

One thing to do today: tap Going on the ZAOstock Facebook event and invite 3 people. Plus Tuesday in review, and 3 ways to be there.

year of the zabal day 273

There is one thing to do today, and it takes a minute. Open the ZAOstock event on Facebook, tap Going, and invite 3 people who should be on Franklin Street on Saturday.

Most of Ellsworth is on Facebook, not on the apps where The ZAO usually talks. The event is how word gets around town. Every Going shows up in someone's feed, and an invite from a friend beats any poster.

Not on Facebook? The same goes for Luma. RSVP there and send the link to 3 people.

ZAOstock is a free music festival on Saturday, October 3, on the Franklin Street Parklet in downtown Ellsworth, Maine. 1 stage, 8 acts, from 12 to 6. At 6 the street clears, and Black Moon Public House next door hosts its own evening from 6, with North Creek. It is the first independent music event of the 9th Annual Art of Ellsworth, Maine Craft Weekend.

Tuesday

Day 272 went out, with Monday's conversation on Beyond the NFT. And the tickets page got a Give section. You can put something behind the day by card or through Giveth, with no ticket needed, and zaostock.com/donate now goes straight there. Every gift goes into the day itself, and into helping the 8 artists on it grow toward their own goals and careers.

3 ways to be there

You can be on the street: walk up to the Franklin Street Parklet any time from noon. It is free and all ages, no ticket is checked, and there are two free lots a short walk away, the Franklin Street Parking Lot and the lot at Ellsworth City Hall. You can be on the stream: it plays at zaostock.com/live from 12 to 6 Eastern, with no sign-up, no account and no app, and outside that window the page shows nothing playing, which is expected. Or you can be at a watch party, where a host takes the clean event audio and does their own thing over it for their own people. You can host one yourself. Nobody has to ask. Tell us it is happening and it goes on the list that goes out on the day.

If you are part of The ZAO and you cannot travel, the stream and the watch parties are for you. 8 independent artists are playing a street in Downeast Maine because this community built the day, and you should get to hear it.

Tap Going, invite 3, and see you there, on the street or on the stream.
