Monday was a full day for ZAOstock, and this is the review of it, 4 days out.
ZAOstock is a free music festival on Saturday, October 3, on the Franklin Street Parklet in downtown Ellsworth, Maine. 1 stage, 8 acts, from 12 to 6. At 6 the street clears, and Black Moon Public House next door hosts its own evening from 6, with North Creek. It is the first independent music event of the 9th Annual Art of Ellsworth, Maine Craft Weekend.
On Beyond the NFT
On Monday night Zaal and Tom Fellenz were guests on Beyond the NFT, Sinful's show at CBD Plaza in Decentraland. About 23 people were in the plaza when it started, and the whole show is on YouTube .
Sinful asked why ZAOstock is free. Zaal's answer was that a free day can still win someone over on the morning of it, when they catch it on their phone and change their plans. It is also why the festival sits inside Art of Ellsworth and Maine Craft Weekend: the music fits an art weekend, and there will already be people walking the streets.
Tom played two pieces. The first was Words No Longer Matter, which started life as a song with lyrics and is on his Bandcamp. The last was Setting the Stage, which he said is how he will open his set on Franklin Street.
Asked what he wants people to remember after October 3, Zaal said a good time, and that they learn something about The ZAO in a conversation on the day. The biggest thing is that people want it again next year.

Day 271, the story of ZAO Festivals so far , went out. And the set times went up on the program page : The Crown Vics open at 12:05, and Tom Fellenz closes the day at 5:10.

Parking, hotels, the airport shuttle and where to eat are all on zaostock.com/ellsworth . The short version: Franklin Street is the venue, so park for free in the Franklin Street Parking Lot or at Ellsworth City Hall, both a short walk away. If you are staying over, book now, because early October is foliage season and rooms go fast.
