I did just one nail out of pure joy

Sometimes, life flips upside down in the blink of an eye. For Cristina, the world shattered when she lost her father, and just 40 days later, she received her own devastating diagnosis: Stage IV High-Grade Serous Ovarian Carcinoma.

Following emergency surgery and ongoing chemotherapy, her body has endured immense physical strain. But Cristina is a fighter who refuses to let cancer take away her independence.

More than a hobby: a path to financial independence

Fighting a Stage IV diagnosis means regular employment is no longer an option, creating an overwhelming financial burden. Wanting to support herself and earn a much-needed income, Cristina decided to learn a profession that accommodates her health: nail artistry.

"I’ve been thinking lately that I could learn to do nails because it doesn't require too much physical energy, it stimulates my creativity, and I can earn some extra money".

To turn this goal into reality, Cristina enrolled in a course but lacked the funds to buy the equipment to actually start practicing and earning.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we were able to step in and buy her a complete, professional nail tech starter kit to launch her small business.

One "Nail of Happiness" at a Time

Chemotherapy causes a painful condition called onycholysis (the loosening of the nails), making hands-on work incredibly difficult. Yet, when Cristina received her package, her determination took over. She sent us an update that moved our entire team:

"I managed to unpack everything and I even did one single nail out of pure happiness! Because of the chemo, I can't do them all right now, but I am practicing. Thank you so much for this help. When I master the technique, you are all invited to get your nails done!"
