I've always heavily associated my identity with work and poured myself into it. This past month was the first time I've taken a step back and spent time discovering / rediscovering other things I love like the joy of learning physics and how the world works. I feel really happy!

In my physics self study, I finished 1st year thermodynamics curriculum, doing more problem sets for next week to improve gaps. It's a lot of formulas and new info but fun I now know how engines and fridges work! Entropy is the most interesting to me and I want to learn more

My brokerage told me they had a backend bug they're fixing so I couldn't to sell my shares before market close and it would take a couple days to receive funds. Another example why crypto rails are powerful with permissionless access, instant settlement, and 24/7 markets

A nice side effect of self studying physics is it's improved my confidence. A lot of the material came across quite intimidating to me before but you can learn it gradually with time, consistency, and motivation. It only gets harder but I'm excited to keep building on learnings

I got out of my comfort zone playing padel today with strangers who were way better than me. I was nervous I would just bring them down since I'm new but they were so nice and encouraging and I ended up improving a lot just learning from them! Feels good ☺️

My physics self study content consistently gets some the most engagement of anything I've posted and people keep asking for more updates. It seems there's a lot of interest in content where people learn new things from scratch out of pure interest and share as they go

I have a weird experience when some find out I'm taking a break from work for the first time to self study physics, they tell me I should go have kids instead. First, it's not mutually exclusive and second, there's a decision and timeline my husband and I made for ourselves

I'm self studying 1st year university physics, just finished mechanics + waves. It genuinely helped me see and understand the world differently already. Biggest adjustment was rotational motion and practicing more abstract stuff like sound waves. Starting thermodynamics now!

I reduced my social media use by prob 90% in the past month. Biggest change is it's been really easy to spot ragebait and just mute/scroll past it vs getting caught up in it or upset. Highly recommend taking a break and then coming back if you find that happening to you a lot

The amount of people who have asked me for an intro but don't follow up when I ask for a short blurb with context I can pass along is really high. Good filtering for someone at least more serious about wanting to follow up on the intro

I soldered for the first time to start assembling my little self balancing robot. A bit intimidating to me at first but was really fun!

I never pretend to know how to time crypto markets. I've always dollar cost averaged into major positions and dollar cost averaged out of major positions over a long period of time. Taking some money off the table esp if it reduces emotions is also good

The single most important metric I use to determine my fund's success is DPI (total cash returned to investors relative to capital invested). I wish DPI were shared more widely by fund managers since amount raised, team size, etc can more reflect LP connections and marketing
