Current crypto market:
* Crypto went through its IPO / supercycle and Bitcoin was the main beneficiary. High floor price now and roughly 10x upside to reach gold. Not bad.
* Bitcoin didn’t lift altcoins much this cycle bc there are too many tokens and not enough buyers. VCs/investors are recalibrating expectations. Lots of startups shutting down/acquihires/bleeding tokens.
* TAM is now Internet Capital Markets, not web3. Roughly “Fintech” TAM, not “Internet” TAM.
* Crypto is “just another asset class” now and frankly AI and the world order reorienting (precious metals) is more volatile and narrative defining atm.
We shot for the Moon and will have to settle for rewriting the global financial system.
More people should know about $WOOF.

Pretty cool that crypto is a key component to finance these days. 🤗
SocialFi in the trough of disillusionment. 😭
Tipping, post to earn, tap games, bounties, creator coins, etc either never found sustained PMF or remained niche.
I think the death is overstated at the moment. New opportunities will emerge as time goes by.

I’m generally aligned with Coinbase here although there’s no “perfect” answer.
I could see the argument that we want something to pass before the Ds take the midterms. But this Frankenstein bill is a mess and could get worse as it moves toward law. Many entrenched interests seeking “compromise” could end up in a spaghetti bill with silly restrictions (stablecoin rewards) and easy loopholes for those willing to take regulatory risk or go through a BVI entity.
We don’t want clarity that leaves us in a worse place than we are today for a short-term pop in BTC and ETH.
As a pragmatist, I still don’t see Clarity passing this year.
