Anyone else having issues with Claude? My business partner and I have been using ChatGPT for a while now, and as Gen Xers, we’re still constantly amazed by what it can do. Somewhere along the way, my biz partner started calling it “Susie” during our meetings, a little inside joke that stuck. Susie became our unofficial AI assistant, helping us navigate our real estate ventures like a pro. But lately, Susie hasn’t been herself. Something’s off, so we’ve decided it’s time to make the switch to Claude. As busy Gen X sometimes we are slow in the takes We haven’t landed on a new name yet, so any suggestions are welcome! But to make things worse, the transition hasn’t been smooth. We’re running into issues verifying our newly upgraded Claude account, and we can’t seem to get it sorted. AI is neither that artificial, nor that intelligent. Mostly borrowed patterns, rented compute, and human taste doing the real work. The magic isn’t the model. It’s who’s asking the questions.

Saks OFF 5th shutting down e-commerce to “drive store traffic” is 1995 logic. Saks Fifth Avenue pulling off Amazon; one of its own investors: because it “hurts the brand” is pure 1985 nostalgia. Meanwhile IKEA is closing stores in China to go lean and online-first. Consumers already changed. Leadership in the west didn’t listen. Business decisions require data, not emotion.

Sitting in traffic, I’m looking at a “Five Below” store on the corner of 42nd Street and 8th Avenue, a prime retail intersection three blocks from New York’s Fashion District, now occupied by a discounter, while Saks Fifth Avenue has filed for bankruptcy. It’s 2026. The “Made in USA” narrative is largely propaganda, most Americans have consistently chosen cheap goods over domestic production.
