The Polivanov system
A transcription system for writing Japanese words in Cyrillic, developed by Russian orientalist Evgeniy Polivanov in 1917. The Polivanov system is the most common option for writing Japanese words in Cyrillic , but in addition to it, alternative writing methods are sometimes used. Sometimes Polivanov’s system is called “rosiyaji”, “rossiyaji” or (among non-linguists) “kiriji", by analogy with romaji - a system of Latin transliteration of Japanese words.

a breed of hunting dogs bred on the Japanese island of Honshu[1], the smallest of the six breeds of native Japanese origin[4]. In 1936 it was declared a national treasure of Japan[5], where the main population of these dogs is located in villages.
