Just catching up on the Bankr / dep stuff. Here's what I'm seeing, add points I'm missing:
- Deployer is aka @ pizzarob, Eth dev best known for EIP 2309 which was adopted and improved NFT batch transfer protocol (real name Sean Papanikolas, he has posted this publicly now)
- Seems to be clean as far as I can tell, not like he was a shady person hiding his identity, he was prob just pseudoanon for security (which, yeah, smart, it turns out)
- Dep speculates that the Bankr hack didn't affect the Bankr stack itself, it was just on twitter, and is potentially a signal of deeper back end security problems at X
- he previously worked for Payward, parent company of Kraken and OpenSea
- idk how much was drained, do you?
Interesting. At a glance it looks like Dep might actually come out of this even stronger than before it happened. And a big question mark for X security, which explains people posting about how this could theoretically be good for Farcaster, if he comes back. Thoughts? What did I miss?
