Demographics Of the 369 respondents, 199 were medical students and 170 were nonYmedical students, most aging from 15 to 25 years old. When I was a young boy
When I was a young boy in Santa Cruz, California I used to help my Grandfather in the fields by his home. This was not his land but back in those days it was not unusual to barter with the neighbours to worked it for them so he could grow the vegetables that he loved. He would then share them with the neighbour for payment. He grew corn, beans, peas, zucchini, cucumbers and garlic. And nobody could grow bigger dahlias than my Grandfather.

On important festival days
On important festival days there will be shows in the village. Everyone looks forward to the show people's coming. The show usually starts at three in the afternoon, runs until five-thirty, and stops for a dinner break. At seven-thirty the the villagers, old and young alike, bring their hand fans and chairs to sit in front of the stage. The oldest members of the village usually watch the program until midnight.
