Until very recently it was possible to use only natural materials of various kinds for the making of clothing. Both plants and animals supply these natural materials. From plants we get cotton and linen. From animals we get such materials as wool, silk, leather, and furs. Modern man now has cloth which is made synthetically. In 1884 the first artificial fiber was made, called artificial silk, Rayon, nylon and dacron are best-known products developed later.

The Circus
I saw a big tent with many flags flying around it and a big sign in front giving the performance times and fees. This was the first circus I heard of in Taiwan, so our family all went there one weekend. There were acrobats, trapeze performers, a bareback horse rider, and trained animals. An Outlook on My Future
I earnestly hope to lead a healthy and prosperous life in the future. Judging from my aptitude inclination and personality streaks, my ideal life will be that of a scientist, researching, lecturing, and writing books. As I am from a farming family, I particularly enjoy being close to earth. If I can afford to live a pastoral life in the countryside, I will feel most blessed. As far as social life is concerned, simplicity is what I intend to pursue, so I really don't need too many friends...
