Matter Labs opened public access to its Layer 2 network zkSync Era
ZkSync Era becomes the first zkEVM on the Ethereum blockchain, in Alpha form, available for the wider public. As a L2 network, it enables faster transactions with lower fees, and provides additional features like native account abstraction. The launch is set to be followed closely by Polygon’s zkEVM, slated for March 27th, and then later by Scroll, which recently went live on testnet. ZkSync Era won’t initially come with a token because the network remains largely centralized in Alpha.
