What is blockchain?

A blockchain is a digitized, decentralized, public ledger of all cryptocurrency transactions¹. It is a distributed ledger with growing lists of records (blocks) that are securely linked together via cryptographic hashes². Each block contains a cryptographic hash of the previous block, a timestamp, and transaction data². The timestamp proves that the transaction data existed when the block was created².

Blockchain technology has been used to create cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum¹. However, blockchain technology has many other potential uses beyond cryptocurrencies³. For example, it can be used to track supply chains, voting systems, and even real estate transactions³.

I hope that helps!
