In order for platforms like Virtuals and AI Agent Layer to operate effectively at scale, they need a way to easily mint and manage tokens through APIs. Platforms for minting tokens already exist: Pump.fun is the latest example. These tools are associated with lightweight uses – memecoin, or the rapid tokenization of the new internet obsession. In order for AI agents to realize their more significant economic potential, institutional-grade infrastructure is needed. Reliable, secure protocols must protect these casting tools from the risk of failure and impropriety.
Security is an obvious basic requirement for such tools, protecting the minting function from being abused by attackers and protecting the ownership expected by token holders. In addition, I believe that issuers will want minting tools to scale across multiple blockchains. Once you've created a token that represents an AI agent, you should deploy it to as many chains as possible. This allows proxies to take advantage of the liquidity, utility, and users in the ecosystem, maximizing their potential impact.
Interoperability ensures that AI agents can move where there is an opportunity, while strong protocols deter malicious actors. Without this foundation, tokenized AI agents would be nothing more than a curiosity rather than a reliable contributor to the global economy.
