DUCK UNIVERSE is an arcade-style action game, reminiscent of classic side-scrolling arcade games. What sets it apart from most MMO games is its emphasis on player versus player (PvP) combat. Of course, like other MMO games, players can team up with others for cooperative gameplay. Players receive quests by interacting with NPCs at several interconnected space stations, and then engage in battles with monsters on planets extending beyond various space stations.

Upon reaching a certain enhancement level, players may unlock special effects or enchantments for the equipment, providing additional combat advantages or unique abilities.

The enhancement process may come with changes to the appearance of the equipment, allowing other players and characters in the game to visually witness the results of the equipment enhancement.
