The violin "il Cremonese" (built by Antonio Stradivari in 1715 and to which he gave the name of his city). Neumann U47, U48, M49 tube microphones was used.
Recorded in DSD stereo on a Pyramix recorder with dCS A/D and D/A converters without any sound manipulation, without equalization, without reverb, without sound compression, dynamics expansion or peak limiting... just with a natural sound with real timbre as was performed.
Obviously what are you listening on streaming apps is the PCM converted version rather than the original DSD.
For this album I recommend the SACD DSD layer or DSD64 from NativeDSD

Another amazing album from the master Accardo.
For this recording Giulio Cesare Ricci used the original Neumann U47 and M49 tube microphones and all his equipment: Nagra advanced microphone preamplifiers, Nagra 4s analog tape recorders, Signoricci line, microphone and power cables. The original analog master was transferred from Nagra 4s directly to DSD. With this recording, Giulio Cesare Ricci wanted the listener to have a unique experience. It is as if he were sitting in an armchair, in the ideal position of the "Sala Musica-Palazzo Cavalcabò". In this position you appreciate the depth, breadth and height of the sound.
In this album are presented different violins from Cremona, Italy. The specific violin played is stated on the track.

In his music, Locatelli pushes the boundaries of the violin technique with an unprecedented virtuoso and at times romantic vision.
The frequent use of exceptional high positions on the violin, many daredevil antics in the left hand including double stops and extended stretches, and the exploration of hitherto rarely used bow techniques, makes him a true pioneer for the violin and the development of violin technique in general.
Despite his obvious fascination for virtuosity, Locatelli ensures that one is captivated first and foremost by charming original melodies and bold characterization. His music never develops into a tour de force but remains sympathetic to both the listener and the performer.
It is therefore a dream come true to proudly present to you my new album Locatelli: L’Arte del violino.
Along with The String Soloists, an exciting young and dynamic international ensemble, I have immersed myself the past few months with great enthusiasm in Locatelli’s world of sound, colour and playfulness which ultimately resulted in the recording of his Violin Concertos opus 3 no. 1, 2 and 4.
On behalf of all of us, I wish you pleasure and joy in your exploration of Locatelli’s amazing violin repertoire!

For this album I recommend the DSD64 from NativeDSD binaural version if you're using headphones. The differences between stereo version and binaural are minimal. Better soundstage and pin point imaging on binaural.
DSD Binaural version only available at NativeDSD.

“Fischer always knows when to lighten the mood, or how best to judge the tension and release of a musical paragraph, and in this she is supported to the hilt by a personable but never too overbearing Russian National Orchestra under the baton of Yakov Kreizberg... In the Concerto's vivacious finale and the headlong Valse-Scherzo, Fischer makes light of the technical difficulties with spot-on pitching throughout; there isn't an aspect of any of these works in which this world-class virtuoso fails to excel.”
