The Frontier of SUB-DAO formation

Recently, we at Metaverse Alliances have been working on creating the first middle-eastern Sub-DAO. It has been a challenging and also fun ride so far and I intend to share our experience here with you.

Like entering any other emerging area, the first step of this project, was to analyze the DAO Ecosystem. This is still an ongoing process and we are just trying to catch up on this one. This study broadens in a variety of domains: The type of DAOs and the prominent ones (e.g. venture DAOs, Social DAOs, Service DAOs, DeScie, etc.), different DAOs’ community membership structure, their governance and voting dynamics, their treasury ownership and allocation,and a lot more.

Once, we have a clear picture of what kinda environment we are positioning in, The most important part was the DAO’s Articles of Association (This is a general memorandum and will be evolving to comply with the legal structure, as soon as the DAO legal frameworks are defined in important jurisdictions.)

I need to clarify here that not having a fungible token was an important and at he same time easy decision for us. We don’t believe in fungible DAO tokens to be the most optimal tokenization mechanism for human-centric DAOs (We believe the best use-case of tokens are for the most autonomous DOs which are protocol DAOs like Uniswap or AAve). It’s a design choice for us and we decided on NFTs as community membership passes.

After that, we went ahead and explored different tools, mostly SaaS, that will help us tackle specific requirements to form a DAO. Below u can see the roadmap and the tools that is and will be utilized in each stage:

The final product is basically a MVC or minimum viable community; which is considered by us as a community that will have enough members to be able to experiment difference design structures, incentive mechanisms, governance model, etc., and is small enough that the feedback loop is created as fast and the ecosystem is minimal as possible.

As, we at metaverse alliances, consider transparency and collective wisdom as a core value of the blockchain-based communities, I will be updating our DAO journey with you as we move forward.
