Wrapped in water (page 5)

The sound of Conor's confident footsteps approached the captain's bridge, the sound of doors slamming shut meant that the Diversionary Reconnaissance Team meeting had begun, which always led to change.

  • "Diversionary Reconnaissance Team meeting declared open," the young captain said in a calm tone.

Hearing Conor's voice, the crew on the bridge took their seats closer to listen to what Conor had to say.

  • "It has become clear that we have limited information as to what has gone on before us in this world, and whether or not the Bagayan people are really to blame for it. Everything is intertwined, but we cannot unravel this tangle at the moment. All restrictions on these people must be lifted," Conor said firmly, then slammed his fist on the table.

  • Well, the commander said so, not that I really cared" - in a lax posture said a relaxed voice advisor Conor.

  • "THEY'RE, THEY'RE ANIMALS! CONOR, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT! " said one of the squad leaders, with an exasperated expression on his face.

  • I didn't ask for permission. It's my decision, and I'm in command today," Conor tapped his fingers twice on the table and left the captain's bridge.

In the meantime I, with Myoka, curiously crept up to the bridge to observe and catch the gist of the dialogue, peeking through the window. Conor's words made the youngsters think about the reason for the commander's decision, although we did not feel hatred for these people, because we did not understand what they had done wrong.
