Success looks like the whole world onchain — millions of builders and billions of people — and the only way we get there is by connecting people, builders, and businesses. By inviting the world to build alongside us and building in the open, we’re creating a new kind of internet that supports an open, thriving economy for everyone.

One of the biggest pieces of feedback we consistently hear is that it’s still too hard to join this new economy. This year, we’re focused on simplifying the message, making the products just work, and bringing the whole world onchain.

To bring a billion people onchain, we have to work hard and push ourselves beyond our comfort zones. If we’re hitting every milestone we set, we’re not aiming high enough. So, as we enter 2025, we set some big, hairy, audacious goals that both excite and scare us:

• $100 billion assets on platform

• 1 billion transactions on Base in October

When we look back at the end of this year, we’ll know we’re on track if we reached for these goals and they challenged us to go above and beyond. With a bit of luck and a lot of determination, we have a shot at achieving them.

To achieve these goals, in 2025, we need to work together. And that means focusing our collective efforts on things that accelerate each other and help us be stronger, together. We will nurture a vibrant ecosystem of connected, open onchain apps that grow the number of people using Base. More apps translate to more concrete reasons for every single person to get onchain.

2. Build new tools to help creators earn more, tell the story of onchain, and grow

3. Make core onchain experiences across social, trading, payments, and messaging

We will create a powerful onchain account with seamless funding, identity, and management. We’ll continue our work on Smart Wallet to eliminate complexity for developers and users, make apps just work, and put control back in your hands.

2. Make apps just work without popups or compromising user sovereignty

3. Enable users to easily leverage their full identity and assets in a secure, private way

We will make Base the center of the onchain economy with highly liquid, always-on, global capital markets. The more assets and liquidity we bring to Base, the faster the entire financial world will come onchain.

2. Support 25+ local currency stablecoins to enable every country to come onchain

3. Enable on and offramps in every country around the world

We will decentralize, scale, and accelerate Base to enable everyone, everywhere to come onchain. The only way we can build a truly global economy is by making sure it’s built on a decentralized, open platform — and we are proud to do this as part of Ethereum and the Superchain.
