What is VRF and How Does It Improve Consensus in Beldex
Greetings crypto folks 👋 Therefore, I was trying to explore the workings of the Beldex consensus mechanism (why not) and I came across something very interesting: VRF based consensus. You may find this mind-blowing a bit if you already know how Proof-of-Stake works in Beldex. And if you are not, then no stress, I will make it simple. Beldex is currently based on a PoS consensus but has this concept of a quorum which essentially is a team of 12 randomly selected nodes, these nodes are called ...

BelNet is an onion routing protocol. Like all onion routing protocols, BelNet anonymizes your internet traffic. However, most onion routers have some aspect of centralization or leak data in one way or another. We mean it when we say it’s an extremely arduous affair to build an onion router that doesn’t have a centralized registry of routers and exit nodes. Then, there’s the issue of security. If we’re not careful, issues such as DNS leaks and certain 0 day vulnerabilities can expose a person...

In 2025, Beldex continued to push the boundaries of privacy-first blockchain innovation, achieving several key milestones throughout the year and expanding its ecosystem across cryptography and cross-chain interoperability. The introduction of advanced technologies such as Bulletproofs++ and split tunneling helps to enhance the network’s scalability, efficiency and strengthen user control and security. These advancements further reinforced Beldex’s position as a leader in the privacy-centric blockchain space.

A cornerstone of 2025 was Beldex’s continued investment in strengthening its core network and cryptographic foundations.
The year 2025 culminated with the Obscura Hardfork, which went live on the Beldex mainnet on 7th December. This hard fork’s major upgrade is Bulletproof++, which adds several key benefits to the network, like,
Proof sizes reduced by ~38%, significantly lowering on-chain data and transaction weight
Faster verification speeds, enabling smoother and quicker block propagation
Improved aggregation efficiency, allowing more transactions per block without increasing block size
Faster node synchronization, enhancing overall network responsiveness
Reduced CPU, memory, and storage requirements, lowering the barrier to run masternodes
Improved performance for mobile wallets, resulting in a smoother user experience

With a total of 2229 masternodes running and powering the Beldex network, it remains faster, secure, scalable, and decentralized. In August 2025, Beldex further strengthened this foundation with the launch of Verifiable Random Function (VRF) consensus on the testnet. On December 30, 2025, Beldex network reached 5 Million blocks that were verified by the network and secured by the community.
On the mainnet, VRF will introduce cryptographically verifiable randomness into validator selection, ensuring that masternodes are chosen to propose and validate blocks in an unpredictable and tamper-resistant manner. This will significantly reduce the risk of collusion, targeted attacks, and validator centralization.
This testnet deployment laid the foundation for future VRF implementation on the mainnet.
With over 8 million BDX burned through BNS name registrations, the ecosystem demonstrated strong user engagement and adoption. To date, 8.7 Million BDX burned and the total BNS purchased is more than 5000. This is the new milestone in BNS trajectory and the count is increasing every day.
Just last month, burns stood at 4 Million BDX, crossed 5 Million by December 6, and have since surged past 8.7 Million.
This milestone highlighted both ecosystem engagement and the growing utility of decentralized identities within the network.

In September 2025, Beldex became a member of the Confidential Token Association, collaborating with leading privacy-focused projects to advance joint research on Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), a key technology for the future of on-chain confidentiality.

Beldex, along with KaitoAI, launched a campaign with a massive $150,000 USDC giveaway, driving global participation and visibility. Then, the major Airdrop-X campaign distributed $10,000 worth of BDX, rewarding active community members for their involvement.
Beldex conducted community AMAs with WEEX and KuCoin Futures, engaging directly with users, addressing questions, and sharing insights into ecosystem developments.
To educate the community and build awareness around privacy, our team delivered safety and privacy tips, simplified crypto jargon, broke down Beldex in easy-to-understand language, and kept the community up to date with key developments. In total, over 120 articles were published this year.

Beldex maintained a strong global presence throughout 2025, participating in major industry events, including
