“Are there any books on animal husbandry here? Please help me to see which shelf is on. Our sheep have started to litter recently. I want to borrow some books.” Early in the morning of March 5, Yu Linshan, a villager living in ergongliang village, qingyanghu Township, jimusar County, ran to the farmhouse bookstore to register to borrow books.
After registering the information, Yu Linshan and several fellow villagers went into the farmhouse bookstore and flipped through the books they needed in front of the bookshelf. According to Yu Linshan, his family bought more than 40 production ewes in 2020. After two years of production and breeding, it has grown to the scale of nearly 200 sheep. 120 sheep were sold in early 2022. Now there are more than 70 production ewes left in the family, and lambing has been started in succession. In order to learn the knowledge of lambing and improve the productivity and survival rate of sheep, Yu Linshan thought of the rural bookstore in the village at the first time.
Yu Linshan said: “there are all kinds of books in the rural bookstore. I often come here to borrow books. I just need to register the information and find any books I want to read. It doesn’t cost a penny. Not only do I like to read books, but my children also like to come here to read extracurricular books when they are on holiday.”
Since 2021, Qingyang Lake Township has actively carried out a series of activities such as culture and sports, national reading, theme publicity, science and technology training, and built a pilot “Learning Power Offline demonstration site” in Xiqing village in order to continuously enrich the villagers’ spiritual and cultural life, further improve the utilization rate of rural bookstores, and make rural bookstores play a better role as positions, The reading mode of “Online + offline” has been realized, which provides a good place for villagers to “recharge” during slack farming.
“This year, the village has carried out two animal husbandry training courses, which are held in the farmhouse bookstore. I attend them every time. I go to learn and read. I can check the information after class for problems I don’t understand, which is practical and convenient.” Yu Linshan said happily to the author: “in the past, we all thought about raising sheep at home. If we can’t solve problems, we’ll bother our neighbors for help. Sometimes we have to ask experts to see. Now we all advocate scientific breeding. I also hope to read more books, accumulate good experience and raise sheep better and better.”
It is understood that in order to implement the “cultural moistening Xinjiang” project, Qingyang Lake Township gives full play to the “three functions” of rural rural bookstore, including recreational and sports activities, science and technology popularization and voluntary service, so as to make the rural bookstore a “small classroom” for young children during winter and summer vacation, a “charging station” for villagers during their leisure time, and a “big platform” for rural publicity policies and science and technology training, We have really made the best use of the “house”. Up to now, the whole township has carried out 12 cultural and sports activities, 35 theoretical propaganda activities and 7 training courses on “agriculture, forestry, water and animal husbandry machinery”, benefiting more than 550 farmers and herdsmen, which has been highly praised by the villagers.
