This BIZARRE mission represents much more than earning a grant or securing a leaderboard position; it’s the culmination of a lifelong creative journey that is gaining massive momentum onchain. To me, as an artist and creative entrepreneur, the BizarreBeasts project and this BIZARRE opportunity are the evolution of a passion that started decades ago. It represents tens of thousands of hours of hard work over many years, entrepreneurial grit, and a BIZARRE belief in the power of creativity and community.
If only my younger self, who carried a sketchbook everywhere and spent any spare moment practicing illustration and cartooning in the elementary school library, could see what we are building together (a BIZARRE onchain universe powered by original artwork, games, and animation), he wouldn’t believe it!
Securing 1st place for this award would be a monumental achievement for the $BB project and for everyone who supports our artist-led, community-powered mission. It proves that Web3 can truly change the way we create media, tell stories, and develop sustainable economies for a better future.

Decentralized Pictures (DCP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit co-founded by Roman Coppola, Leo Matchett, and Michael Musante, with support from American Zoetrope, the legendary independent film studio founded by Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas in 1969. The Coppola family has spent decades championing independent voices and disrupting the studio system; DCP is the Web3 evolution of that mission.
By utilizing a decentralized voting platform on Base, DCP allows the community to act as the "studio executive," deciding which projects deserve to be seen. The platform provides a space where "Bizarre" ideas can find the resources they need to thrive outside the traditional Hollywood machine.
The A3 Startup Award is a $100,000 grant run in partnership between the Arts3 Foundation, CV Summit, and DCP. The award is specifically designed to seed innovative startups that are building the next generation of decentralized entertainment platforms, tools, and content. The process is entirely community-driven, where the top 3 community-voted projects are reviewed by the Arts3 Foundation Board, who then choose the recipient. This ensures that funding goes directly to projects with active community support and merit.
