Issa spring time… almost 🌱
And the WIP crew is bringing the flowers and fun to say see ya to the snow. 🌨️🌷
This week saw the legendary Stina Jones marble some of her works live with the Meme Explorer crew – of course, the WIP worked out first dibs because Stina is amazing and that’s how we roll. 😊
Gifts from Fabiano, Patrizia, and Misfit Pixles, too? 🎁
Hey, wait, why does Paradoxx have a flamethrower!? 💦🔫
Let’s turn up the HEAT! ❤️🔥
About The WIP Meetup: Welcome to the longest-running, community-first metaverse hub, serving up the metaverse’s greatest hits every Thursday at 7 pm UTC. 🕖
Stina Jones is an artist, designer, and doodler who has been an integral part of the evolving crypto-art movement that defines our space in time. 💻🖼️
She’s been cooking with pixels and blockchain since 2018, making her a true OG in this corner of the internet. 🤝
Her work combines different dimensional perspectives and color palettes, juxtaposing calming hues with fine forms, but don’t let this writer’s subjective description override the work itself! Go check out her collections to see why her awesome work made for the perfect WIP shenanigans this week. 👀
The WIP HyperFy parcel was decked out with Stina’s artwork, and Johan from the Meme Explorer crew walked us through an exclusive marbling event of Stina’s artwork! 👏🥇
Record Scratch ⏺️
What’s marbling? Glad you asked. 😉
Marble Cards are one of the original NFT projects that stretch back all the way to 2017. Mint a custom card using a URL, but only one card per website address! First come, first serve – trade cards on the marketplace, curate your own unique user journey over time, or make your own meta with your cards. The sky is the limit. 😎
The pics here are just a few examples of past cards and the cards that we were able to mint using Stina’s generous contribution of her artwork’s URL – a massive thank you to her, Johan, and the Meme Explorers crew!
Does a marbling event sound like something that would fit one of your collections? 🤔
Give us a shout and let’s talk collaboration – the WIP exists to support artists, and if that means you, then we want to help. 🤗
Seriously, the WIP exists to support crypto-art in whatever ways we can. 💪
We’ve been going at it for over half a decade now. Not to brag, but new faces and places regularly grace our doors, and we’ve collectively crafted quite the treasure chest of know-how when it comes to the metaverse and digital art. 💅
That… doesn’t mean we know it all, though – teamwork makes the dream work! 🎉
That’s why we’re so immensely thankful for the folks who continuously support the WIP week in and week out – we couldn’t do it without y’all. 🙏
This week, a special shout-out to a few folks:
Fabiano and Patrizia are the resident WIP power couple, and this week, they pulled out all the stops to help HyperFy feel a bit more like home – say cheese! 📸
Misfit Pixels is a WIP regular who always brings smiles – if you see this friendly skeleton perusing around your metaverse, say hi! You’ll be glad you did. ❣️
Is it me, or is Nifty Island becoming a thing? 🏝️
This is some of the most fun I’ve had in a while with a new environment – crisp, clean, modular, and so much fun to bonk your friends. 🔨
Not to mention the Wip Tower Tournament, hosted by beloved WIP team member and resident videographer Paradoxx! 🗼
The object of the tournament is simple. In the words of the great Rizzle: “We’re here for some good ‘ol fashioned killing!” ☠️
If you’ve ever played Fortnite or similar style games, you’ll feel right at home in the WIP Tower Tournament… unless you have a mini beach ball phobia. 🏖️
After all that excitement, it was time to wind down the action. 😴
Let’s recap! We:
Saw amazing artwork marbled into stunning collectible cards 🃏
Received a fantastic array of love in the form of gifts and giveaways 💌
Dodged more lead than a clumsy 19th-century miner in Nifty Island ⛏️
That’s a packed Thursday! 😁
Make sure to join us for the next one on Thursday, 7 pm UTC! Oh, and say “Haaay!” on Twitter, and make sure to join the Discord for the event! 😘
