Beijing, Guiyang, January 26 (Xinhua) Title: reunion in Guizhou Taiwanese cuisine

The new year is approaching, and Guiyang, a mountain city in Southwest China, is particularly wet and cold. However, there is a lot of laughter in a Taiwanese restaurant in the center of the city, and the low temperature of zero degrees Celsius can not suppress the rising smell of the new year.

Lin Suzhen, who is over 60 years old, is the chef of this Taiwanese restaurant. His son Qiu Zhiliang is the person in charge of the restaurant. In order to entertain many villagers who do not return to Taiwan for the Spring Festival, they decided to prepare the dishes that must be eaten in Taiwan and invite everyone to celebrate the new year together.

“This fish has been marinated with my exclusive secret recipe for 15 days. It’s ready to serve today!” Lin Suzhen, who was busy in the kitchen, said with a smile that she had specially prepared more than ten Taiwan dishes for Taiwan youth.

As night fell, compatriots from Guizhou and Taiwan came to the store one after another. Qiu Zhiliang brought hand-made nougat to his friends and poured Taiwan white gourd tea. Among them are entrepreneurs in Guizhou and many “Guizhou son-in-law” who came to work and live in Guizhou with their wives. At the end of the year and the beginning of the year, we greet each other and chat about our life and work in the mainland this year.

“Because of the COVID-19, many Taiwanese youths can’t go home for the new year, so they can make some big dishes that Taiwan must eat for free to comfort their homesickness.” Chiu Chih Liang frankly said that reunion is a blessing. A small gathering before New Year’s Eve allows Taiwan youth to feel the taste and warmth of home.

Before dinner, qiuzhiliang took out Guizhou Maotai flavor Baijiu and Taiwan specialty drinks to entertain everyone. After several dishes were served, the Taiqing people sitting around the table filled their glasses with wine or drinks, raised their glasses to celebrate the new year and talked about their new year wishes.

Xu zewen, a talkative Taiwanese compatriot, has only been in Guizhou for more than ten days. He is full of praise for the delicious dishes at a table. “Although I have been in the mainland for more than ten years, this is my first time to Guizhou. The dishes I ate a few days ago were too spicy. I want to have a full meal today.”

As soon as the words came to an end, the Taiqing people at the same table talked about the “tip of the tongue” memory when they first came to Guizhou: “when they first came to Guizhou, they had diarrhea for several days because of eating spicy food. Now they can not only eat spicy food, but also get used to Houttuynia.” “when they came to Guizhou, half of the suitcases were Taiwanese cooking bags”

Zhang Mengyang, a Taiqing who came to Guizhou to start a business in 2014, put down his chopsticks and got up with a wine glass to toast everyone. He said with emotion: “Guizhou is a good place. After coming, he found that it is beyond our imagination. He is willing to stay, not only because he has feelings with here, but also because he is optimistic about the development prospects here.”

“In 2022, I hope all of you will enjoy your work and life in Guizhou.” As the “son-in-law of Guizhou”, Tai Qinghuang Qiyuan said.

At this moment, Taiqing people, drinking small wine, eating Taiwanese dishes and telling stories about Guizhou, lamented one after another: “even if they can’t go home for the new year, there is a warm feeling of home here, and their heart is warm!”

When you talk to me, the dinner table is full of laughter. Turning to the new year’s wish, xuzewen, who was holding a wine glass, said that the two sides of the Strait are close to each other. He hoped that Taiwan and the mainland could join hands to fight the COVID-19, let the epidemic pass earlier, and strengthen cross-strait exchanges and communication. (end)
