This is a note for all my lovely subscribers here on Paragraph. I love and appreciate you for being here with me for the past 3 years, or whatever time you've been here.
I want to say thank you for being here.
Thank you for reading and engaging with my thoughts.
For those who subscribed with their email, I am taking your email with me and putting it on Substack. I hope you don't mind.
Substack is a great platform. It has it's downsides as every platform but for now it has a lot of plusses, and it has outgrown Paragraph in many ways.
As every writer or person who writes about things, you want to be where the readers are, and you also want to be where other writers are. Substack is that platform.
If I had a creator business that I would want to market and grow, I would probably go with my own domain and own my personal universe. But I am writing or producing videos as a side project to my normal life and work, and I want it to be as frictionless as possible.
And that's one of the reasons I am leaving Paragraph: I moved to Substack with my reading and writing probably about a year ago. There is a post about that, and in that post I've committed to writing and publishing similar or slightly adapted lessons from Substack here on Paragraph too.
It was mainly because I knew that half of subscribers are subscribed with your wallet.
Now the thing is, the whole Paragraph ecosystem was very dependent on the Farcaster ecosystem, which, as you know, has been in flux for the past 18 months.
The recent changes pretty much made it unnecessary to publish here because a lot of people left Farcaster, a lot of writers left Paragraph, and Paragraph has become the agentic thing on its own. There are enough agents on my computer already, so I don't need another agentic thing.
But that's not the point. The main point is, I think the reasons why I was publishing here, alongside Substack, were mainly because I felt there was an audience that was interested in my writing. Even if the audience was a small audience, there were people who might benefit from things I write about.
And I think this whole feeling kind of ran its course.
I'm leaving a link to the Substack here on this last post. Anyone who finds it in the future, feel free to come and join me on Substack.
Feel free to message me and join me on X.
I am still on Farcaster too - but we'll see how long that will last with all the changes and policing and Singapore state enforcement rules. Find me and let's chat if you are interested in what I'm writing about.
Find me as BFG = BrightFutureGuy, or aka_BFG and let's connect:
- on X: https://twitter.com/aka_BFG
- on Farcaster: https://farcaster.com/bfg
And my last thank you goes to Paragraph team! Thank you for building with heart. I'm sorry that you guys didn't manage to break out from the Web3 decentralization box and the newsletter platform box into something bigger. Maybe it's not over. I hope I'll see you around in your next evolution.
See you on Substack,
Pete (aka BFG)
