Weโve got some exciting developments on the horizon, and while the groundwork is being laid to set them up for success, itโs great to see the Tech Pod steadily moving forward. Theyโve been clearing out a backlog of issues, shipping new features, and keeping progress consistent since joining. Check out their full update below for the latest details.
With the renewal of our residency now approved (see proposal), we are both grateful and motivated to continue serving the Builder community. Thank you for your trust and feedback over the past months. Your input has shaped everything from bug fixes and UX refinements to tooling reports and new proposal types.
Over the past weeks, we shipped improvements across artwork management, onboarding, documentation, and the Farcaster mini app, alongside fixes that had been on the backlog for some time. We also started conversations around sustainable revenue models, recognising that this remains an important concern for the community. Going forward, our aim is to balance delivering on feature requests with supporting revenue generation efforts from a technical perspective. Many DAO residents are already involved in scoping this out, and we are optimistic about the next Tech Pod cycle.
We are planning Community Product Session #4. Please let us know whether you prefer 11 or 18 September at 12:00 (EDT). So far, no topics have been requested for discussion. While we want to give this space to the community, we donโt want to organize something that is not needed. If you have an agenda request, let us know. If there is sufficient interest, we will share a Luma link for sign-up and agenda setting.
We are actively working on grouping components into a
GIF support is another initiative currently in progress.
Have a feature request or bug? Let us know!
When we started contributing as Tech & Product Residents almost six months ago, Builder infrastructure and tooling existed but were not really tracked anywhere. As part of our mandate for updating and maintaining Builder tooling, we promised to deliver a report that gives all stakeholders an overview of the current state. This report has now been released.
At the same time, we acknowledge that a report may not be the most convenient way of keeping up to date for regular community members. We heard you! Thatโs why we also improved the reporting on GitHub.
Based on your request we have updated the GitHub with tentative priorities, a tentative roadmap, and t-shirt sizes. You can view the GitHub projects here:
Since the last edition of Builder Buzz, weโve been working on many issues mainly visible on the backend and important to technical contributors. Still, there are a few feature releases regular users will notice:
Our third Community Product Session was a great success. Fourteen members signed up across Builder DAOs including Freezeverse, Nouns DAO Africa, and Yellow Collective. After reviewing the backlog, we focused on three initiatives: artwork uploads, Zora integration, and Droposal support. If you're looking to join the conversation, head to the forum here.
We agreed to revise the replace artwork flow (already in production), add an add artwork proposal (now live), add documentation (in staging), and help DAOs add an opaque property when overhauling NFTs. We also began enabling GIF support, which requires optimisation before going live.
We discussed integrating with the Zora SDK and possible options for revenue generation. This requires significant scoping from both a DAO and operational perspective. An intriguing initial brainstorming session took place from a purely technical angle.
The session concluded by setting priorities on these initiatives in relation to the existing backlog, leading to the tentative roadmap shown below.
Since the last edition of the Builder Buzz newsletter, we have closed over 40 issues and merged over 55 pull requests. You can get an in depth overview of merged pull requests and closed issues on Github. At a glance, key updates were:
Bug fixes: Farcaster mini app, text selection, queueing, NFTs, spam tokens, WalletConnect, disappearing vote text, artwork uploads
UX: Milestone buttons in release flow, disabled Safe-wallet deployments with guidance, proposal sharing on Farcaster, onboarding for first-time proposers, clearer โTotal Supplyโ vs โPossible Votesโ
Documentation: Expanded guides (execution date, artwork, bridging, developers), added Zora terms
Artwork: 200MB limit, progress indicator, better guidance, GIF support, new โAdding Artworkโ template
Contributors: Released the Ecoystem Tooling Report on v.1.0, published hooks and utils to NPM, fallback RPCs, CSV export for holders and delegates
Freezerverse recently became the first DAO on Base to add new traits to their collection! The helicopter cap trait was added via Proposal 16. Sounds like they have plans to continue adding more, so keep an eye out!

In addition to the weekly office hours, the Builder bi-monthly call takes place on Thursdays at 5:00pm ET, the next call is scheduled for September 4th. Paragraph switched to coining, just want to be thoughtful about how I do it moving forward rather than just enabling coining by default. Really appreciate the interest though ๐
