Devcon VI - Bogota Chronicles

Yonathan Cruz is a Software Developer from Honduras who became interested in blockchain because of a friend with whom I worked for around 6 months on his project @La_Bitcoinera sending him rollup articles for him to read. Later he became personally interested in the technology where he investigated creating a marketplace for the sale of NFTs and then being a participant and third place winner in the SubeLatam hackathon with the POAP dispenser project. Thanks to this, he joined the BUILD Honduras community where he learned about this event called Devcon for the first time.

The second time in a hakathon experience, I joined the ETHGlobal discord where they announced a hackathon days before the main event, I registered, they asked me to stake at least 0.002 ETH to secure a position, after that they invited me to a channel where the hackathon projects were being coordinated, people requesting equipment and developers presenting themselves and showing their skills sets, I decided to write in the general chat in which I quickly receive DMs from people interested in being part of their team, to be honest I don't know If they did it out of desperation to get someone or they did it because of the skills that I had put in that I knew, after that I joined a team that had participated in the eth mexico hackathon and in which they had won some prizes, I decided to go for their The team was basically 3 Mexicans and 1 Peruvian and they had a project called NF2U that was in charge of mining NFT in a simple way for non-technical people.

In short, there were three days of not sleeping, yes, there was food everywhere, drinks, juices, fruits, cookies and best of all there was swag everywhere in the hackathon. The best @CoWSwap what a gift breaks winds and personalized apple airtags with a cow logo.

Then the last day ends I decided to add the scroll network to our arsenal to also participate in a launch pool I met @OrestTa the Co-Founder of @Scroll_ZKP which is a blockchain that has layer 2 (I joined his waitlist) and is doing impressive things with the technology of zkRollups, the next day the hakathon ended, you saw many tired people, and we decided to make the presentations as soon as possible, we went through each sponsor to present our demo, we received good feedback from everyone.

After that we came out winners of several launch pools, but nothing important, the great prizes were taken by people who worked for important DAOs or teams supported by communities, nothing amateur, without a doubt it was an experience that I would repeat again, you surround yourself with people passionate about creating new things on top of ethereum to further scale the technology.

During the event it was many talks around (Convention Center) Agora the main event. There were many talks happening simultaneously, you had to bring a plan to which ones you would like to enter since there were many, just in case I leave you the link of the talks since they were recorded live for the Ethereum Foundation channel there were 4 days of talks, the most important thing I should highlight were the values of ethereum and how ethereum came to help public goods with its technology, either with an organization like UNICEF, or even as a smaller project like in my country with Powart to the people @Powart2DaPeople or beach cleanups with @web3beach in Utila.
