We are thrilled to announce that Canto is now live on Picasso. This integration is another step toward full interoperability in and out of Canto, enabling an Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) connection via Picasso allows Canto to operate seamlessly on various chains that were previously inaccessible, including Polkadot, Ethereum, Solana and more.
Canto’s vision is to fulfill the promise of DeFi, embracing a future that is inherently multi-chain. Canto contributors firmly believe that assets lacking cross-chain transferability are restricted in their utility and value. Through the partnership with Picasso, Canto enables seamless on- and off-ramps to other chains, leveraging the proven safety of IBC transfers. Initially, Canto will support transfers of USDT and the Canto token to and from Solana, with plans to expand to more chains (such as Ethereum and Polkadot) and include more assets (e.g., NOTE, ATOM, ETH) in the near future.
Seamless Cross-Chain Transfers: Canto’s integration with Picasso allows users to leverage IBC to facilitate secure transactions initially to and from Solana, and eventually other Picasso chains, like DOT and ETH. This broadens the scope of assets on Canto, and provides an easier on-ramp for users in other ecosystems.
Enhanced Liquidity Solutions: Canto’s Liquidity Coordinator, and other liquidity management protocols, are synergistic and complementary with the Picasso integration. Both seek to offer liquidity optimization, allowing users to deploy and manage liquidity across multiple chains for more efficient capital utilization.
Future Opportunities: As Picasso continues to add chains and assets, Canto will benefit from additional assets, liquidity and chains becoming accessible within the Canto ecosystem.
