"Civilization:On-Chain" - The New Chapter

Before We Start

"When people are asking what exactly a crypto native game is, they don't realize that they are already deeply immersed in it due to its complexity and interconnected nature of the cryptocurrency.”

Ethereum itself is like a crypto-native game (also know as fully on-chain game). Within the Ethereum ecosystem, there are a multitude of participant roles: symbolic leaders like Vitalik, official organizations such as the Ethereum Foundation (EF), validators, developers, project teams, speculators, and long-term holders. These roles and inherent intentions revolve around Ethereum, forming a complex ecosystem. The ecosystem's dynamics, with its various roles and intentions, do resemble the intricate interactions found in a complex game. Each participant contributes to the overall narrative and evolution of Ethereum, creating a living, dynamic environment where strategies, alliances, and conflicts shape the outcome. Just as in a game, the success and sustainability of Ethereum depend on the collective actions and decisions of its diverse player base.

Under the grand umbrella of Ethereum, different sub-domains and roles have emerged. For example, following Ethereum's development roadmap, various Layer 2 (L2) projects have come into existence, such as Arbitrum, Optimism, and zkSync. These L2 projects have further given rise to the concept of decentralized sequencers, with projects like Metis and zkFair. Platforms like Metis and zkFair have developed their own ecosystems, including swap, lending, and staking services.

This entire structure can be imagined as a tree, with Ethereum as its root. Around this "root," people trade, speculate, build, and even worship. Ethereum is not just a token, a project, or a template for a decentralized computing platform; it is a complete civilization.

Bitcoin (BTC) can also be seen as a crypto-native game, but before the advent of Ordinals, its role composition and ecosystem were relatively simple compared to Ethereum. Bitcoin's main participants included maximalists, and a few project teams. However, the introduction of Ordinals, or more precisely, the emergence of BRC20, has completely changed the landscape.

BRC20 introduced a mechanism where each transaction corresponds to a single image, akin to a fairer "dark forest." In this nascent ecosystem, every transaction is like a unique maneuver in the dark woods. However, Bitcoin's inherent efficiency seems to make the dynamics of BRC20 slow, as if the speed of the dark forest has been reduced by a factor of eight. Despite the costly and slow transactions, the market has shown a keen interest.

After discussing all this, I want to ask you a question: Do you realize that you are deeply immersed in the game?

What is “Civilization: On-chain" ?

“Civilization: On-chain" is an open-world game built on the Ordinals protocol. Players can cultivate their own civilization facets on the BTC network, developing their facets through different technological and racial routes to achieve higher energy levels. Civil will also launch a civilization editor, allowing creators to introduce new content to Civil through planning the content and values of civilizations. Moreover, the final decision on whether a civilization creation can be added to the entire facet system will be determined through a governance process

Who are we?

We are BTC maximalists with a few BTCs. We come from TikTok, Microsoft, Tencent but are utterly disillusioned with Web2 companies. We are avid gamers, not looking to overthrow traditional games, but rather to create a new category of games.

About Client Agnostic: Our design philosophy is to make all game values open and place them on the BTC and our L2 network, allowing the game or certain components of the game to run on different clients without being restricted by specific client types. In other words, this design enables the game to operate seamlessly across a variety of devices and software platforms.

Why choose BTC network:We are aware that the BTC network is very expensive and slow, yet we still firmly believe that a truly open-world game needs to be built on the most valuable and decentralized network in the world. This is why we have chosen to build "Civilization: On-chain" on the BTC network.

About Token Launch: “Civilization: On-chain”s governance token will be deployed as a BRC20 token on the Ordinals protocol. The token will be deployed at a random time after this article is published, and the deployment information will be announced on Twitter."
