As we all know, the collapse of a major centralized exchange has led to many crypto users wondering whether their crypto is truly safe in the hands of centralized exchanges. During this bear market, once the news broke of how many former crypto companies operated, it clearly showed how some of them were operating at a very risky level with little to no accountability, co-ordination and mitigation of risk.
This is where decentralized exchanges can come in, many of us have already heard of Uniswap, Pancake Swap, but have you heard of D5 Exchange?
Unlike other DEX, the D5 Exchange is the first fully on-chain order book DEX for Ethereum, where anyone can create and trade any token pair freely. This order book mechanism means it does not have the “impermanent loss” and “slippage”. This is different in comparison to other DEX’s such as Uniswap where the gas fees required are much higher, therefore using the Gridex Protocol (which powers D5 Exchange), the trading mechanism on D5 saves users up to 40% on transaction costs in comparison to Uniswap V3.
D5 Exchange includes liquidity from Makers and also aggregates the liquidity from Uniswap V2, V3, and Curve, as external liquidity, allowing users to get the best exchange rate by choosing the source of liquidity themselves. This choice of pick and choose allows the user to decide whichever pair of tokens to trade with. Furthermore users have the option to pick and choose which swap mode to use such as: All aggregation mode, Native aggregation mode, None grid mode.
These type of choices are unavailable in CEX, where the pairs of tokens are fixed by the exchange and the liquidity is based mainly on its internal holdings and fees. Whereas Uniswap only has the choice of using Automated Market Maker, therefore with D5 Exchange, you can choose which mode to use!
Furthermore unlike other centralized exchanges, D5 does not require KYC as it operates solely on the basis of smart contracts and not on a centralized trading system. As long as the user connects their wallet address to the system, every user can have access to the exchange and trade any pair of tokens that they wish! So far D5 Exchange only operates on the Arbitrum One network, however in the near future, D5 Exchange will also support other networks such as Ethereum, Polygon and Optimism, stay tuned for more updates!
