First, I would like to mention two crazy coincidences here:
I'm a Chainlink Advocate, (yes, the girl in the photo in the authorship of this linked article is me) and the main topic of my Chainlink classes is always VRF
I've been in love with Cool Cats since I joined this ecosystem, you can ask all my friends
Let's start by talking about CCFC, Cool Cats FC ("Football Club"), a collection of 4,000 NFTs created by Cool Cats, Animoca Brands, and OneFootball Labs. According to the website, the collection seeks to gather the Cool Cats community and football fans globally to celebrate the world’s largest football event.
My biggest web3 goal for 2023 was to be able to acquire a Cool Cat, I had been trying for some time, but I couldn't because of the high price (I'm Brazilian, it's not hard to understand), so I ended up buying an NFT from the CCFC collection. I bought a CCFC that was at the FP and, if I'm not mistaken, it was an Australian one. A few days later I received an airdrop from CCFC and it was a Brazilian kitten!
I ended up getting an offer on both and sold them but…
I couldn't miss this historical landmark of the collection that I love most in my life and I ended up returning... So there I was buying an Uruguayan CCFC. And from the first airdrop, I found out that CCFC was a campaign filled with raffles for the community (yay).

For each request, Chainlink VRF generates one or more random values and cryptographic proof of how those values were determined. The proof is published and verified on-chain before any consuming applications can use it. This process ensures that results cannot be tampered with or manipulated by any single entity including oracle operators, miners, users, or smart contract developers.”

We have interesting things to point out:
The smart contract will only consume the random number after consuming the cryptographic proof of the randomness of that number (long live math)
It is important to deliver a proof, that is, a guarantee to the community that the raffle result is true. This is indispensable to maintain trust between the project and the community
Note that this cryptographic proof (like the entire Chainlink ecosystem) is decentralized, which means that a centralized node cannot corrupt any information. It's all about oracles!
This was an excellent way for the leaders of the Cool Cats community to carry out the raffles in a decentralized way and with cryptographic guarantees.

And this NFT was part of the craziest day in the life of a Chainlink Advocate and Cool Cats lover. Among five wallets selected to win a Cool Cat, there was me. And I was able to cross off a big goal from my 2023 wishlist.
Those who expose themselves to web3 (safely, of course) end up being rewarded. I only got here because I bought CCFC NFTs. I can only explain and understand Chainlink VRF because I attend Crypto events. I could only create this article because I read good content.
The greatest web3 lesson of my life is to leave the theoretical and move on to the practical field. Actively participating in communities is being able to experience incredible things like this – amazing – meeting between Chainlink and Cool Cats.
