Hello,
Music NFTs can really turn music in to an asset if the management of the NFT Stores really look after the product they are offering.
Quality control would need to be in place and the NFTs offered in limited amounts to drive the market.
I can only imagine what the future might bring and what could be included in music NFTs. I would love to see audiovisuals being the main content, pairing great music artists with great animators, etc.
I read what Gala are looking to do with regards to music streaming and that sounds like the gold standard. Artists, rightsholders, node operators and listeners all sharing in crypto when music is streamed. Possibly a precursor for the likes of Spotify with node operators being playlist curators.
As I mentioned earlier, quality control will be key. Consumers will get bored with low quality and high quality artists wont be able to be found in all that noise. Artists capable of making a living from their music wont be able to, so if music NFTs are going to be the great equalizer, NFT Store owners will need to concentrate hard on curation.
I run a new music publishing catalogue and always open to new demos from songwriters and music producers, also lyricists. Please drop a streaming link to - david@cmcmusic.xyz
Thanks for reading.
