How Travel Nouns Was Born
The journey of creating an NFT character for DeTrip has been nothing short of an adventure. After collaborating with several designers, we struggled to find the perfect character to represent the spirit of travel and innovation. Just when we were about to give up, a playful yet captivating gorilla-bunny design by Jetpacksandrollerskates on Dribbble caught our eye. We reached out with high hopes during Christmas and offered several proposals, including profit-sharing and a $5,000 buyout. Unfortunately, our efforts didn't succeed.
Disheartened but reflective, we stumbled upon an opportunity that had been with us all along—the iconic Nouns glasses we used during the ETHGlobal hackathon in Bangkok. Nouns DAO, a revolutionary NFT project, operates under a Creative Commons license, making its unique pixel art open for use and adaptation, even commercially. With this revelation, Travel Nouns was born—a vibrant fusion of Nouns’ iconic designs and the travel industry's boundless possibilities.
Nouns follows a daily new Nouns NFT auction model, our general/free membership NFT also follows the same pattern (no sales, no auction tho) that randomly generates a NFT when user sign-up and mint. As Nouns keep going, the number of Travel Nouns will grow as well since we are using the Nouns SDK. We also have the plan to add more travel traits into this collection, just to make it more fun in the future.
