Reviving Freedom: The Satoshi Statue's Return and Its Significance for the Bitcoin Community

NEW: The Satoshi Statue Rises Again in Lugano, Switzerland!

Earlier this summer, the iconic Satoshi Nakamoto statue in Lugano — a city known as Europe’s “Bitcoin hub” was vandalized by unknown individuals. The act drew outrage across the crypto community, as the statue had become a symbol of freedom, innovation, and financial sovereignty.

The bronze bust, which honors Bitcoin’s mysterious creator, was first unveiled as part of Lugano’s “Plan ₿” initiative, a citywide effort to integrate Bitcoin and blockchain into local commerce and public life.

After months of careful restoration, the Satoshi statue has now been repaired and returned to its original place standing proudly once again in Piazza Reforma, the heart of Lugano.

Local officials and Bitcoin advocates say the statue’s return marks more than just a repair it’s a statement:

“You can’t destroy an idea whose time has come.” 💪

The city plans to celebrate with renewed Bitcoin community events and educational programs this winter, reinforcing Lugano’s role as a European leader in Bitcoin adoption.
