The whole “tea dragon” industrial chain, which has been upgraded iteratively in recent years, has become the leading industry to promote the Rural Revitalization Strategy of Lianjiang.

On the same day, Lianjiang spring tea was officially launched; The standard and brand construction of Lianjiang red oolong tea, a national famous, special and high-quality new agricultural product, was launched; Lianjiang municipal government joined hands with Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences to sign the technical service agreement for brand building and industrial development of “lianjiang red oolong tea”.

Driven by leading enterprises, farmers become rich by planting tea

The sub humid monsoon climate and good ecological environment give lianjiang a broad space for the development of tea industry. Following the arrival of the solar term “Gu Yu”, tea gardens are green on the cascade terraces in Changshan Town, Lianjiang.

Lianjiang’s “tea classics” began in the late 1990s. At that time, Lianjiang organized tea experts at home and abroad to conduct in-depth research on the basic conditions for the development of the tea industry, selected and introduced Taiwan fragrant oolong tea species, and started the journey of planting oolong tea in Lianjiang. Lianjiang tea farmers pay attention to ecological tea planting, and the market recognition is very high. Through hard work, Lianjiang tea making technology has made a historic breakthrough and created a number of high-quality brands. Lianjiang tea has gradually become a well-known emerging brand, and lianjiang has gradually become a little famous oolong tea producing area in China.

According to the statistics of Lianjiang agricultural and rural Bureau, at present, the tea garden area of Lianjiang City is 39000 mu, with an annual output of 9160 tons and an output value of 850 million yuan; More than 20 new tea varieties have been introduced and cultivated, and the sales of tourism and logistics have exceeded 1 billion yuan through the tea industry. In Changshan town alone, 26000 mu of tea is planted. A large number of large tea growers have emerged in Liangdong, Qingping, Shijing and other places. There are 46 famous enterprises, cooperatives and family farms engaged in the tea industry.

Through the model of “leading enterprises + farmers”, Lianjiang City promotes leading enterprises to drive farmers to plant tea, expand the scale of tea planting, and promote farmers to increase income and become rich.

In 2020, Lianjiang successfully established a provincial modern agricultural industrial park for tea. The current tea planting area of the industrial park is about 28200 mu, producing more than 6000 tons of tea and an output value of 750 million yuan.

In terms of planting, the industrial park can provide more than 6000 seasonal jobs a year, which can generate farmers’ income of 112 million yuan; In terms of processing, the tea garden provided 4000 jobs and paid more than 100 million yuan. The per capita disposable income of rural residents in the area where the tea industrial park is located is nearly 20000 yuan, which is 15.18% higher than the average value of the whole city. It has helped more than 5000 farmers get rid of poverty and become rich by planting tea.

The standard and brand construction of red oolong tea were launched

At the meeting, Lianjiang municipal government joined hands with Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences to sign a technical service agreement on “lianjiang red oolong tea” brand building and scientific and technological support for industrial development. The reporter of the new express learned that after the signing of the agreement, Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences will carry out all-round cooperation with lianjiang municipal government in the whole industrial chain in terms of new tea seedling standard formulation, technical support, brand planning and quality inspection, accelerate the adjustment of Lianjiang tea industrial structure, and promote the transformation, upgrading and efficient development of the tea industry. The standard and brand construction of Lianjiang red oolong tea, a national famous, special and high-quality new agricultural product, was also launched at the meeting.

“These are the key to the high-quality development of Lianjiang tea industry.” Jiang Yi, deputy director of Guangdong Provincial Department of agriculture and rural areas, believes that the tea industry in Lianjiang is characterized by “multi, fast, good, special and strong”. Lianjiang City proposes to formulate and implement the industrial standards and product standards of Lianjiang tea, and create the geographical indication and public brand of Lianjiang Oolong tea, which will play an important role in the national development of Guangdong tea, including lianjiang tea.
