After Medium Suspended Our Publications and 100+ Writers Overnight!
Last night, without warning, Medium suspended all the Doginal Dogs community publications (Doginal Dogs Daily, YDAO Daily, Dogwarts, and Type Media) — and with them, the accounts of 100+ writers.
Our writers woke up to find all their work gone. Articles, interviews, research, satire pieces, guides, and community stories — silenced with a single blanket action.
The common thread? We write about crypto, NFTs, and Web3 culture.
Medium has quietly grown more hostile to Web3 projects, restricting creators who explore these themes.
For the Doginal Dogs — a community built on openness, creativity, and blockchain freedom — this was a setback, but just a temporary one!
I researched our options and discovered Paragraph. Then I reached out to the founders/owners and explained who we are, why we're seeking a new home, and I asked if there will be any problem if 100 of us suddenly arrive and start posting Web3 content.
The response:
"Sounds great, thanks for reaching out! You should be good to go, but definitely reach out if you run into any issues getting set up & using Paragraph. Look forward to reading your work!"
A breath of fresh air after our experience on Medium!
The decision to move wasn’t just about finding a new platform. It was about finding a home that reflects what we stand for. Here’s why Paragraph is the new home for Doginal Dogs writers:
Crypto-Friendly by Design
Paragraph was built for Web3 creators. Instead of punishing us for writing about NFTs and blockchain, it gives us tools to go deeper — token-gated content, wallet logins, collectibles, and decentralized storage options.
Team and Community Publishing
Paragraph supports multiple contributors and team roles. That means Doginal Dogs can continue as a community publication, not just individual blogs scattered across the web.
Discoverability Still Matters
Unlike closed ecosystems, Paragraph lets us publish to custom domains and have our posts indexed by Google. New readers will still discover our work through search — and join the community from there.
Resilience Against Censorship
Medium showed us how fragile centralized platforms can be. Paragraph integrates with decentralized storage and wallet-based identity, reducing the risk of content being erased by a corporate decision.
For our displaced writers, this isn’t the end — it’s a new beginning. On Paragraph, Doginal Dogs will:
Continue running community publications that showcase satire, thought leadership, guides, and creative writing.
Experiment with token-gated sections for members and collectors.
Preserve work on censorship-resistant storage, ensuring that no single entity can delete our stories again.
We’re not just surviving Medium’s purge. We’re building something much stronger.
If you’ve been following Doginal Dogs on Medium, or writing for us, welcome to our new home.
Bookmark us here on Paragraph, subscribe with your email (or even your wallet), and stay connected.
For writers who were suspended on Medium, you can still access your old articles (they just can't be seen by anyone else) so you can quickly copy/paste them to your new home here.
To submit articles to the Doginal Dogs Daily or YDAO Daily, you'll need to give me the email address you used to join Paragraph, and then I'll add you to the approved writers list.
So it works a bit differently to Medium — I can't add you without knowing your email. If you want to preserve your anonymity, sign up with a fresh email address.
And if you’re new to the community, this is your chance to see what happens when 100+ writers refuse to be silenced. We’re storytellers, creators, educators, and builders — and we’re not going anywhere!
