Hardware keys such as Yubikeys are considered the most secure method of 2FA. These devices are small USB keys that are inserted into a computer or mobile device. They generate a unique code that must be entered to access an account. Because the code is generated on the key, it cannot be intercepted by hackers, making it the most secure method of 2FA.
In summary, while SMS-based 2FA and Google Authenticator are convenient and easy to use, hardware keys like Yubikeys offer the highest level of security against hacking and phishing attempts.
