We understand that recent events within our community have raised concerns and generated a range of emotions. We acknowledge the importance of addressing these issues openly and transparently, and we are committed to rebuilding your trust.
The resignation of Cole Ryan and the recent terminations of Ben Frigeri, Kiddest Sinke, and Anoosha Tolouei have left a lot of you feeling uneasy about the future of our community and organization as a whole. We admit we could have done a much better job communicating these changes to you all (and the reasons behind them), and promise to do better in the future.
The incident during our April 21st community call underscored the importance of cultivating a safe environment for dialogue based on mutual respect and valuing diverse viewpoints. As we move forward, we are committed to fostering an atmosphere of respect and inclusivity for all members of our community. We will encourage open discussions, embrace all opinions, and take proactive steps to ensure that our interactions align with our core values.
As we continue to grow and evolve together, we want to reinforce our mission statement: Dreams Never Die is an Artist Company and Music Community built for passionate music lovers who believe in a sustainable future for artists and up-and-coming business talent. We remain dedicated to exploring the intersection of web3 and music, and we believe that we can - and must - continue to build and create value in this space.
As a first step in demonstrating our commitment to these values and to the growth of the web3 music community, we will be using the profits from our Founder Pass mint (approximately 26ETH) to seed a new DAO wallet. It is our hope that these funds will be spent in a collaborative fashion, as decided by holders of our Founder Pass. In the coming weeks we will begin building a system by which community members can create proposals and discuss how to best make use of these funds.
Beyond that, we will be continuing our weekly recap chats and supplementing those with a wide range of holders-only perks including music feedback sessions, industry insights chats, and more.
We hope you’ll join us again this Friday for a more comprehensive update on what we’re building, and if you’re open to it, we’d love to pick up the conversation where we left off from last week.
With gratitude,
Tyler Bancroft, SVP of Web3 Development Chad Hillard, CEO/Founder The Dreams Never Die Team
