In the world of NFTs and blockchain, community building is a fascinating and challenging endeavor. It's like constructing a bridge, connecting diverse individuals under a shared interest, and guiding them towards a common goal. Today, I want to share my personal journey of building such a bridge as a Community Experience Officer for the BigYak Axie Club (BYAC).
It all started in March 2022. I was drawn to the BigYak Axie Club, a fledgling community that was just starting to spread its wings. The club was new, and its founding story intrigued me. I bought a BigYak axie, a fluffy and majestic creature in the Axie Infinity universe, and joined the club. Little did I know that this decision would mark the beginning of a new chapter in my life.
As I became more active in the community, I found myself stepping up when the founder called for volunteers. It wasn't a calculated move, nor was it a role I had aspired to. But as I took on more responsibilities, I found myself growing into the role of a Community Experience Officer, like being handed a paintbrush and being asked to help paint a mural - daunting, but exciting.
One of my first projects was the Faction Wars tournament. It was a grand feat, with the community coming together to participate and celebrate. The tournament was a success, and it was a memorable experience that showcased the spirit of BYAC. It was a testament to the power of community engagement and the potential of our club.
Over the past year, I've learned a lot about community building. Like tending to a garden - you need to nurture the plants, resolve conflicts (like pests or diseases), and create an environment where everything can thrive. I've seen BYAC evolve from a group of NFT enthusiasts to a significant voice in the Axie Infinity community. It's been an incredible journey, and I'm proud to have contributed to our growth.
Looking back, I wouldn't change a thing. Every experience, every challenge, every triumph has been part of my journey. It's shaped me as a Community Experience Officer and as a member of the BYAC, a community tapestry, with each thread representing a different experience, all woven together to create a beautiful picture.
As I continue my journey with BYAC, I look forward to more challenges, more triumphs, and more opportunities to grow and contribute. It's like standing at the foot of a mountain, ready to climb higher and explore new paths. Here's to another year of building the best and most impactful community in Axie Infinity and the whole web3 gaming space.
