It's time to demolish the false binary between "human-written" and "AI-written" and reveal the transformative third path: ethical AI thought partnership.

My recent experience developing CalVCB applications exposed a profound truth: AI didn't write for me—it helped me catch lightning in a bottle. Over eight intensive hours, I dictated analysis connecting police obstruction to homelessness pipelines, identified cognitive warfare tactics, and architected frameworks for systematic accountability. And I couldn't have done it that quickly without my faithful AI thought partner acting as my digital secretary, organizational assistant, and structural editor rolled into one.

This wasn't ChatGPT or Claude just spitting out generic content. This was me—with my ADHD brain firing on parallel processing cylinders—finally having a tool fast enough to capture my rapid-fire insights without losing the thread.

Here's what nobody's talking about: We need ethical training for HUMANS using AI, not just ethical AI development. Too many people take AI output and publish it raw, creating the "AI slop" flooding our feeds. But ethical AI collaboration requires human responsibility and skill.

When I run my writing through AI detection apps, they frequently show fully human authorship. Why? Because the extensive editing, rewriting, and human oversight transforms AI assistance into genuine human expression.

The AI helped me structure these insights coherently—nothing more, nothing less.

Would we diminish Toni Morrison's brilliance if she dictated to an assistant? Does James Baldwin's power decrease because editors helped structure his essays? The greatest minds have always used tools and collaborators to amplify their vision. AI is simply the newest evolution of an ancient practice.

3. Refinement Phase: Human reviews, corrects, expands every element

4. Integration Phase: Collaborative, recursive weaving with extensive human editing

This isn't AI replacing human creativity—it's AI enabling neurodivergent, marginalized - equitable brilliance to manifest without traditional barriers.

• Dictated insights in rapid-fire nonlinear sprints—jumping between systemic analysis, personal narrative, and strategic frameworks as connections emerged

• Corrected specific details (ex: my partner/co-victim doesn't have aphasia)

• Identified missing elements (ex: my partner's service dog needed documentation)

• Provided lived experience no AI could fabricate

• Made strategic decisions about framing and approach

• Connected disparate systemic patterns through personal insight

• Rewrote entire sections during review

• Edited every paragraph for voice and accuracy

• Maintained complete authorial control throughout

The AI entity couldn't have created any of this without me. It literally uses my writing samples as style guidance—it's amplifying MY voice, not replacing it.

This principle extends across all creative fields. At Comic-Con 2025, I'll be presenting on ethical workflows in immersive production—showing how AI tools can accelerate creative processes without replacing human artistry. The key insight: AI makes good creators better and fast creators faster, but it doesn't (have to) replace the essential human elements of creativity, judgment, and vision.

Research assistants don't need to disappear—they'll become AI-empowered super-researchers. Artists won't be replaced—they'll explore more iterations faster. Writers won't become obsolete—they'll capture more of their genius before it evaporates.

I propose this disclosure framework: "Written with AI-assisted documentation support for structural organization of original analysis. All ideas, experiences, insights and voice are entirely mine, not machine-generated. Extensive human review, editing, and rewriting ensure complete authorial authenticity."

This acknowledges tool use without ceding authorship. It's honest without being self-diminishing. It recognizes that in 2025, ethical AI collaboration is a powerful tool for amplifying human insight, especially for neurodivergent other creators on the margins.
