📍Stowe, Vermont. Three days. Five hundred creators, builders, and developers. The Basecamp experience didn’t just inspire me—it changed me. It reshaped what I believe film3 can be, and the possibilities of the creator economy. So profoundly, I edited a short documentary as a love letter to the entire experience.
Basecamp was completely ️electric from the first moment.

It wasn’t just a conference. It was part community, part laboratory, part playground for innovation. People traveled from London, Bangalore, Ireland and across the globe to join this gathering.
I’ve been working in the film3 space for about four years now, exploring how independent film and web3 intersect and applying and testing different methods for various aspects of production from documentary to animation. Film3 transforms traditional filmmaking by putting the community at the center: creators, audiences, and supporters all come together onchain to co-create, collaborate, and share value. Tokens such as $film3 and the $Based500 allow participants to take part in production in a meaningful way—earning credits such as Executive Producer or Producer, influencing the creative process, and sharing in the success of the film.
The documentary and the launch of the $Based500 token demonstrate how the model works in practice. Every transaction helped cover the cost of producing the film, and we contributed 50% of the proceeds to the Film3 DAO to support the legal defense opposing recent trademark filings that threaten the creative freedom of so many creators in the space. Tokenization and community engagement can transform independent filmmaking into a shared, participatory experience. Top token holders became Executive Producers and Producers, while so many others became vital supporters. They didn’t just witness the story—they became part of it.
Basecamp wasn’t just a gathering; it was a proving ground for creativity, connection, and collaboration. The Based 500 captures the energy, the ambition, and the optimism of a community building together. It immortalizes a moment that has forever reconfigured my understanding of film3, the creator economy, and the incredible possibilities ahead.
