Introducing Fuel Season 1 (FS-1) and Phase 2 Genesis Drop
Today marks the conclusion of Phase 2 and with it the Fuel Points Program. We want to thank all participants who helped bootstrap Ignition, and now turn our focus to building Fuel into a fully integrated liquidity hub. As we mark the end of the Fuel Points program, we are excited to unveil two initiatives: Phase 2 of the Genesis Drop and the start of Fuel Season 1 (FS-1).Genesis Drop: Phase 2 - 150,000,000 FUEL1.5% of FUEL total supply.Rewards for participation in Phase 2 of the Points Progra...

Sway: The Next-Generation Language for Smart Contracts
As blockchain applications become more complex, there is a strong need for safe and smart contract languages. Many platforms today rely on languages and virtual machines (VMs) that weren't originally designed to handle the unique constraints and requirements of blockchain execution. It’s no secret that the architectural decisions made in 2014 for Solidity and the EVM now show clear signs of age. Among these is their susceptibility to vulnerabilities that make writing secure Ethereum smar...

Fuel is excited to partner with OnlyDust for ODHack, an open-source competition where developers can contribute to Fuel’s growing ecosystem, with $15,000 in grants available for top contributors across ODHack 12 and 13.
This marks a significant milestone as Fuel opens its doors to public contributions for the first time, encouraging developers to enhance Sway and Fuel Station while shaping the future of Fuel.
The competition will feature two hackathon events:
ODHack12: March 20 to March 30, 2025
ODHack13: Late April 2025
Participants will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge blockchain projects, gain visibility in the developer community, and earn a share of the $15K in rewards.
Sway is a performant, secure-by-design language that's purpose-built for the next generation of blockchain applications. We built Sway from the ground up to solve common Solidity problems such as slow performance and security vulnerabilities. Sway catches exploits at compile time, and handles native assets without overhead, all with a Rust-inspired syntax that feels natural to write.
Contributor Guidelines: Read the official guidelines.
Required Skills: Intermediate Rust; experience with compiler/language tooling is a plus.
Good Starting Issues:
More “good first issues” here.
Standards: Contributions must include tests for quality assurance.

Station is a non-custodial gas paymaster that works with all Fuel wallets and requires no user upgrades. This project is currently in its prototype phase, and contributors can play a critical role in stabilizing it and making it production-ready.
Prerequisites:
Familiarity with Fuel, Sway, and the UTXO model.
Experience with Fuel’s ts-sdk.
Review Fuel’s documentation before contributing.
Issues for contributions will be opened soon, get a head start by exploring the project now.

Fuel values meaningful contributions to the projects, with $15,000 in grants available for top contributors across ODHack 12 and 13. While not all contributions will be monetarily rewarded, exceptional work will be recognized and showcased. A great opportunity to gain visibility in the blockchain space.
