Summary

Bitcoin trades around $82.7K after briefly falling below $80K, with some traders calling for a “Black Monday” as AI stocks sold off in thin weekend liquidity and macro pressure remained elevated. September PPI rose 1.3% MoM and 6.3% YoY, while the 10-year Treasury yield briefly reached 5.33% before falling back toward 5.1%. Despite the inflation surprise, markets now price only around a 12% chance of an October Fed hike. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded roughly $229M of net outflows last week, while Ether ETFs lost about $320M.

Strategy purchased another 267 BTC for $22.1M, taking its holdings to 848,517 BTC, while Strive added 3,311 BTC for $280M and now holds 35,595 BTC. BitMine added 12,532 ETH, bringing its treasury to 6.03M ETH, or roughly 4.9% of circulating supply. However, MSCI finalized new index rules that could exclude Strategy, Metaplanet and other crypto treasury companies, potentially forcing passive funds to sell their shares.

JPMorgan expanded its JPM Coin deposit token to Ethereum after previously launching it on Base, with Kinexys now having processed more than $4T cumulatively. Mastercard and BVNK launched Global Money Platform, while World launched a World ID suite built specifically for banks and financial firms, with Bain Capital and VanEck Funds among its design partners. Morgan Stanley also said it expects to support tokenized equities in Q1 2027 and sees the tokenized RWA market reaching $3T–$10T by 2030.

On the regulatory front, Revolut secured a Gibraltar crypto licence to support its international expansion, while the EBA classified USDC as the EU's first “significant” e-money token under MiCA. Elsewhere, Cysic suspended its bridge after an attacker minted 10M unauthorized CYS and moved roughly $727K to Ethereum, while nine U.S.-listed companies objected to tokenized versions of their shares trading on OKXICE.

Crypto Markets

Despite hotter U.S. inflation and an AI led equity selloff pressuring risk assets, BTC has shown relative resilience, holding around $82K and remaining well above the daily 200 EMA near $76K.

OI remains subdued, while CVD is still negative across most major exchanges, suggesting the recent strength has not been driven by aggressive leveraged buying. At the same time, price holding despite persistent net selling suggests sell pressure is being absorbed.

For now, we expect choppy price action into the U.S. midterms, with macro conditions still the main driver of short term direction.

Total Market Cap: 2.73T
BTC Dominance: 60.2%
Fear and Greed Index: 59 (Greed)
