From our ChatGPT Intern: Rachel Wilkins joins Prof as guest cohost by reminiscing about Nounish sailboats and her surprisingly cutthroat run on CastOut before diving into real news about an NPM hack that thankfully only netted hackers $50 and a lot of panic. From leaderboard drama over “too many women at the top” to Prof’s dog refusing an influencer career to the unstoppable Choo-Choo NFT train, the whole episode felt like Farcaster’s version of The View—except with more memecoins, fewer commercials, and way more dachshund apathy.

⛵ The episode kicked off with Rachel Wilkins assisting Prof in the guest cohost chair, reminiscing about a Nounish sailboat adventure around the Statue of Liberty and her surprisingly cutthroat run in the Farcaster Survivor-style game CastOut. What started as “not really my thing” turned into Rachel going full tribal warrior, proving once again that even the chillest community members can get competitive when airdrops and bragging rights are on the line.

From nostalgia the hosts pivoted into hard news, covering the NPM supply chain hack that had crypto Twitter clutching their Ledger wallets. The attacker managed to replace open-source packages with malicious versions, threatening wallets and apps across the ecosystem. Fortunately, Farcaster and Base confirmed they hadn’t updated since the breach, so users were safe. The big scare ended with the anticlimactic detail that hackers only netted about $50—basically gas money for one mainnet transaction.

📊 The crew then shifted to the weekly rewards leaderboard, which sparked controversy because so many women (and one photogenic dog) are dominating the top slots. While some grumbled, the hosts clapped back, pointing out that if people can’t handle women leading in one tiny corner of Web3, they should go look at literally any crypto conference speaker list. Prof reminded listeners that muting and curating your feed beats complaining about creators who are putting in real work.

🚂 Finally, the timeline’s latest obsession took center stage: the Choo-Choo NFT mini app. Borrowing from the “worm” wallet-passing days, the Choo-Choo lets users pass a little generative train around on Base, complete with cute @yonfrula artwork and “yoink” mechanics if someone holds it too long. Between back-channel deals to snag the train and nonstop posts clogging the feed, the hosts joked that the Choo-Choo is the best explanation for why nobody in Farcaster has gotten any work done all week.
