Honoring standout shredders from the Gnars community, we’re launching the Gnarly Skater of the Year contest. A community-driven tribute bringing back the early DAO energy, with open voting hosted on Snapshot, simple, onchain, and collective.

The vote runs until Christmas, when the final Ho Ho Ho hits and the Gnars Skater of the Year will receive a Gnars NFT airdropped directly to their wallet.

No judges. No gatekeepers. Just the community deciding who truly kept it gnarly this year.

From OGs to breakout shredders, these are the names that pushed Gnars forward IRL and onchain. Different styles, different paths, same gnarly commitment. This is about impact, consistency, and keeping the culture moving.

Pamtech: A 50-year-old São Paulo OG and professional skater who never slowed down. Still hammering tricks, dropping clips on Farcaster and IG, and hosting community events with SkateHive at Praça Roosevelt. Proof that style and grit only get better with time. 🤘 Clip🤘

Vlad: True Gnars OG. One of the shredders who paid in blood, clips, and commitment. Beyond skating, Vlad helped generate real value for the DAO treasury through Zora posts paired with the $GNARS token. Pain, impact, and onchain execution. 🤘 Clip🤘

Willdias: Creative chaos in motion. A Gnars OG constantly pushing visual ideas through special videos with the Nogglesboard and sometimes classic street skating too. Represents Gnars both IRL and URL in a way that’s unmistakably his. 🤘 Clip🤘

Ephraim:Skater from Uganda and core DAO contributor through the KSI project. Constantly sharing clips, building visibility, and strengthening the Africa Onchain skate scene together with Isaac. Grassroots energy with global reach. 🤘 Clip🤘

DaveBachinsky: Certified Gnars OG. Whether on the mini ramp or behind a drone, Dave keeps delivering. Pulled off a Guinness-worthy feat with the most kickflips in one minute alongside the DEGEN crowd. Pure madness, pure control. 🤘 Clip🤘

Garcia: Gnars OG with purpose. Through the Skate Transforma Vidas initiative, Garcia installed a Noggles Rail in São Paulo and hosted a powerful local event in 2025. Always pushing skating forward and keeping the feed heavy with clips. 🤘 Clip🤘

HumbertoPeres: Breakout shredder of the year. Through the True Barracão project, Humberto connected with the DAO and SkateHive, made it to Buenos Aires for Gnars & Jazz, and took Best Trick on the Noggles Rail alongside local skaters. Always charging. 🤘 Clip🤘

JahKay: A true revelation. Burst onto the Gnars Farcaster channel throwing down tricks on ledges, flatground, and rails. Raw, technical, and hungry, proving through action that he belongs in this conversation. 🤘 Clip🤘

To close it out, it’s worth remembering that Thrasher Magazine’s Skater of the Year went to the skater who finally conquered El Toro with an iconic 360 flip after years of attempts, a reminder that perseverance, commitment, and raw skateboarding still define what SOTY means, Congrats Chris Joslin. In that same spirit, Gnars Skater of the Year voting is now live on Snapshot and runs until December 25th (aka Christmas).
